that defensive style atually does not cause boring fights by itself. In fact, for many experienced boxers its quite easy to work around, you literally can just unload and pick whatever shots you want against that kind of guard.

The thing is that Donaire is an explosive puncher, not really a guy that picks opponents apart with accumulative shots. His offensive style doesnt work too well against a high guard. Someone like Chavez or Mike McCallum with their precision punching and body attack would laugh and thoroughly enjoy ripping apart a guy with a high guard.
