You must mean Prime Hopkins against todays Taylor? Taylor is only 27 and hasn't peaked yet, so it's premature to speculate about Hopkins at his best versus Taylor at his best.

I don't believe we have seen the best of Taylor yet, and won't for maybe 5 years or so.

Taylor was about as hard to watch as John Ruiz in that fight. He did absolutely nothing and won the fight.

I wish it would have been a draw just so I don't have to think about that.
Bingo. Taylor didn't look impressive, nor did Hopkins look bad. It was boring to watch and Taylor won about 2 rounds convincingly against a 40 year old. He better step it up if he doesn't want the old man to show him the ropes.

I believe Taylor will get better but I don't see him reaching the type of skills and ring smarts that Hopkins has.

I didn't pick Taylor to win the first fight and I don't believe Taylor won the fight but in my mind I felt that if Taylor won he would show more than just being able to throw punches. I watched the fight again a couple of days ago and I'm still not impressed with anything Taylor did in that fight. The only thing he did was be more active than Hopkins rather than doing anything effective. That's why I believe he won't be a long reigning champ unless he shows me something in the rematch to change my mind. As of right now I no longer believe he is the future of the division.

Let's all remember something. Hopkins isn't as his peak. He's 40 years old for god's sake you can't be at your peak when your middle-aged like Hopkins. Taylor is still very green, and inexperienced and in my eyes he put on a fairly decent performance.

Being the challenger, he took it to the champ which you HAVE to do.

Although I didn't think he won the fight, I think this experience will help him. Hopkins cannot change his gameplan, because he is too old and his physical assets won't allow it even though he is a very conditioned athlete for his age.

I'm interested to see the outcome of this bout. Not sure who I'm picking yet.
