Donaire has being the bigger and faster guy in every one of his fights, still he has some problems with some of his foes, now he wants to face the #1 126 and probably 130 pounder in the whole World and some fans are giving him not only the edge but it will be an easy affair, for the first time he will b facing an stronger, faster and powerful boxer, a guy that hasn't being challenged and won all his fights with easy, a fighter that because he is being light years ahead of the competition we haven't seen the best of him, ppl think that Gamboa has no technique or can't box and I have news for you, he is a heck of a boxer, he have to b because in order to win a World and Olympic Gold medal you have to b a good boxer, actually the best boxer in your weight class and he was, we had only seen flashes of that good boxing (you don't make the National team in Cuba if you only have athletic abilities), IMO he will win against Donaire in a good scrap.

I think Gamboa beats Donaire. Nonito is very gifted, quick, has decent power. But, Gamboa is quick, has good power, and is a bit more slick in the ring than Donaire.

Gamboa and Donaire both need to move up. I would like to see Gamboa fight once at 130 (his next fight), and make it for a title. There aren't too great fighters at 130, so fight for a title and collect a belt in a different weight class. Than, by mid or late 2012 fight at 135. There are plenty of names at 135 for Gamboa. Marquez, Rios, Guerrero, Linares, Demarco.

As far as Doniare, once he beats Narvaez, he seems to be moving up to 122. Why not fight Nishioka for the WBC title there. Than, he could fight Rigonadeaux in mid/late 2012 (Rigondeaux should win the WBA title once he beats Ramos in December). If Donaire were to win those fights, he could then move up to 126 and fight Lopez, Garcia, Russel Jr., and clean up there, and than head to 130 and 135 by late 2013/early 2014 and fight Gamboa.

Didn't know they were rating fighters on potential now. Donaire no where near tje p4p list yet. Donaire would get utterly destroyed. Gamboa is not an up and coming prospect, he's tje real deal.

Donaire has only 2 good names on his resume, and thats it!
NAY. you are probably one of the best 5 posters on here for real! when you talk, it makes sense, and i listen. . .

Aside from Montiel and Darchinyan, he has some good names.
HOWEVER, VOLODYMYR SIDORENKO is world class. He's not "pound for pound" world class, but he's definitely world class. . . What I would call "mid to lower echelon". . . He went tit for tat with Anselmo Moreno TWICE. . . SCHOOLED P-swat (Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym - TOOK HIS 0). . . Went to war with Cordoba and drew him twice. . . BEAT AGBEKO!!! He legitimately beat agbeko! TOOK HIS 0!

Also, guys like Herman Marquez, Raul Martinez, and Moruti Mthalane are all what I call "high class journeyman" - along the likes of guys like Ponce De Leon, and Salido. .. All these guys have either challenged for a title (Martinez), or are current world champoins (Marquez and Mthalane). .

Im not trying to pump up Marquez, Martinez and Mthalane, but just know that they are JUST AS GOOD as THE BEST COMPETITION Gamboa has faced thus far. . . and Sidorenko is better (than competition gamboa has faced). . . and Montiel and Darchinyan are LEAPS AND BOUNDS better. . .

I've always said that this guy Donaire is shrinking down to a much smaller weight then he actually is, Donaire is 5'7 with a natural weight of about 135 pounds, he should of been fighting at 126. Period. To me, he's a talented dude but he's not P4P. When you look at guys like Floyd and Manny these are dudes that fought in classes ABOVE their natural weight pretty much their whole careers up until now and if Manny and Floyd wanted to do what Donaire is doing they could have with no problem Floyd could of fought at 140 and dominated until he was 30+ if he wanted to, instead he moved way up to 154(or 150) when his natural weight was only around 145 and challenged a much bigger Oscar who was 168 on fight night. Now thats p4p right there. Same goes for Manny he could of fought at 135 well past the time he did. I'm not knocking Donaire he's making the weight, do you, but more is required for one to become true p4p I have a feeling once he does finally move up he will be an average fighter he's been below 122 for too long and use to fighting tomato cans, talk of him and Gamboa fighting is very premature and wishful thinking really, he would get KO'ed quickly, Donaire wouldn't even beat Ponce De Leon at 26 right now not cuz of skill but because hes not use to the power...

Donaire is obviously a very good boxer, from 118 and down yeah. Gamboa imo is the uncrowned king of the ring at 126. And I only see The Problem as being a problem for him from anyone of 122-130. Just like 135 is a whole new league for Gamboa, 126 is a whole different story than the one Donaire has been in for several years. Like, CAN Donaire beat Salido at 126? A guy that gave Gamboa imo his toughest fight, and the guy who beat up and stopped JuanMa. Can Donaire beat that guy? Or would Salido spoil yet another Top Rank super fight, like he did with Gamboa vs Lopez? You got these guys that can beat Gamboa supposedly, but can they pass the test of Glen Johnson Jr, AKA Salido? Now don't get me wrong, just cause Salido gave Lopez and Gamboa a tough fight, doesn't mean Donaire can easily outbox him to a UD with his ring smarts. But as of now, he hasn't done anything to make me think he can beat Gamboa.

In a sparring contest (No power) I'd bet Donaire would give Gamboa problems.

In a real fight... Donaire is not ready to taste that kind of power...

I'm glad to hear Donaire talking about Gamboa. That would be a dream fight. Obviously, he'll need to fight at FW a couple times to settle into the weight but I think it will be a more natural weight for him. If he doesn't have to cut so much weight, he can probably carry his power up to 126. Who knows.
