Hell yeah, a rematch is a definite must. If that fight isn't stopped right there, Linares wins a wide UD.
He wasn't hurt, he still had an intelligent defense up and was evading a right hand as the referee decided to jump in.
If Linares' face wasn't covered in blood, he wouldn't have looked as bad. The ref stopped it based on the appearance of blood instead of whether or not Linares was out on his feet or unable to intelligently defend himself.
Get that rematch immediately. DeMarco was handed that title gift wrappedComment

just like he pushed linares (who was winding down noticeably and had a broken face) to be aggressive in a fight he was winning if he just survived?
gbp need to stop being *****es about this fight...i like linares way more, but he got stopped fair and square

This was a fight! It seemed clear to me that Linares wasn't going to win by KO, but I did think he was going to win. DeMarco just kept coming with the pressure and Linares couldn't hang. I gotta say though, those left uppercuts that Linares was landing while strafing to the left looked good. Unfortunately, looking good doesn't get the job done. It was a good stoppage though. When Linares went back to his corner, he was bleeding profusely.
