  • Comments Thread For: Carl Froch Ponders a Move To The United States

According to a recent interview with Jeff Powell of the Daily Mail, WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch is considering a move to the United States, although the British boxer will continue to keep a home in Nottingham. Froch is training for his December 17th unification with WBA champion Andre Ward, set for the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

I don't understand how Carl Froch is not popular in the England. Makes no sense really.

Unfortunately Carl, you won't be making a big mark here, boxing is dead in America. It's just that American boxers continue to dominate.

If he wanted exposure he should have made this play long ago, along with dumping his promoter.

        Feels alittle too late now.

Yes. Name one country that dominates boxing more than America.

There is a simple reason why its taken Froch this long to get recognised at home - it's his own fault!!

He was tied to promoter Mick Hennessy for too long and for some reason SKY and the big TV companies don't want to work with Hennessy Sports. As soon as he signs with Matchroom he gets major TV coverage.

So its his own fault for sticking with an unpopular promoter when everyone else (Haye, Calzaghe, Hatton, Khan) were being shown on mainstream TV and becoming big names.
