In my eyes:

1st fight - Pac had 3 ko's and a higher power punch margin. Yes, Marquez landed more overall punches, but I think Pac gets the nod by the slightest of slight margins. I have re-watched this fight numerous times, and conclude it was either a draw or I give the nod to Pac.

2nd fight - Marquez out lands Pac by a substantial amount, and in every category. Power punch differentials were: JMM 42% to pac's 37%. This clearly should have been a W for JMM, regardless of the knock down.

Actually, i think marquez was better in the first fight. I had it a draw going into the 12th, but i think pac got the 12th and thats why he won. Marquez won that fight in terms of rounds, but it wasn't enough to overcome round 1.


As for 2nd fight - If fights were won based purely on stats, there'd be no need for judges. The discrepancy in punch stats largely arises from the 8th round where pac was practically semi blind for 2.5 minutes.

If you break the stats down though, marquez outlanded him as a whole - but pac outlanded marquez in 7 of 12 rounds.

Anyway ive said it before: If you truly do believe marquez edged it out in both fights, its understandable. I just dont get why people say marquez dominated pac outside of the kd rounds - its simply not true.

something i really dont agree like millions of boxing fans its that many people think or know pac will win because he is a more complete fighter..so why the catchweight?..

Why not fight at 147 then? It's not like Pac hits 147 on the spot and blows to 160.

But what those ppl fail to mention is that after the initial round, and marquez figured pac's style out = HE DOMINATED THE REST OF THE FIGHT to have it be close. Pac shoulda never let it get that close. So to say that it was only a draw b/c of the judge's mistake doesn't really cut it here. Pac shoulda never let it get that close if he was the better fighter that night.


EDIT: With that type of lead after the first round, he must have gotten worked the rest of the fight for marquez to come close and make is so controversial, right? or is that just something that you can't comprehend??

How the *** could you lose a fight where you knocked the guy down three times in the first round?

Name another fighter who started so well, and finished so poorly?

Why was it so close across the board? One just had marqeuz winning 115-110 right??? how did pac let that happen?

THAT NIGHT, if pac was so much greater than Marquez... fight wouldn't have been so controversial after that first round. i don't see how you can dispute that.

avoiding question so there's no point in even discussing this further... say what you want again and avoid the question. pac had very large lead, marquez fought back, fight was a draw. end of story.

Marquez will do well with all his preps. Marquez is old school better than those mouthy slick boxers who only do legal fouls inside the ring.
