It was high bias, not high drama, until the seventh, when Tony was applauded for finding his groove.
The smoke they were blowing was friggen ridiculous. They quote was " Robinsonesk." That level of hyperbole made me rooting even stronger for Demarco.

the ref really had no choice at that point -- can't let Linares continue with his face covered with spurting and dripping blood and taking serious shots to the head like that -- too bad for Linares, who looked like the much better fighter -- the cuts and bleeding just took it out of him -- give DeMarco credit, he has a way of looking mediocre for much of a fight and then coming on very strong at the end -- we need a rematch (after Linares heals),,,,

The only reason this fight was stopped was because Linares’ face was bloody. Just ask yourself, would the fight have been stopped had Linares only had a swollen face? No it wouldn’t have, it would look more like Khan vs Maidana Round 10; a high anxiety moment that would’ve passed as the round drew to its close (and not as dramatic). Linares would’ve cleared his head before the start of the 12th, came out and peppered the jab to a Unanimous Decision victory.

And I’ve heard others suggest Linares faded - he faded some, but not as badly as made out to be. Linares was in absolute great shape in my opinion, as much as he moved, dodged and threw, his conditioning was very impressive. Need I mention how valiant he fought after losing so much blood from the 6th round on (you lose blood, you lose stamina). His conditioning was very good. He may have been hit with 2 good 1-2s in the 11th that really snapped his head, but that’s more a defensive lapse, than a fault of conditioning; his legs never dipped in the fight either. He was in control of the fight, until the moments he got too brave for his own good (see round 10, see the end of round 10 when DeMarco throws his arms up in desperation for a slugfest, see the difference in round 11). His instructions were to throw combinations and move out. He threw combinations and stayed in, leaving himself susceptible to punches, while struggling to see. Clearly, I believe the stoppage was premature, but I do understand it.
exactly. linares' bloodied face made him seem in worse shape than he actually was. linares wasn't out on his feet like khan was against maidana, but the fact that his entire face was covered in blood created an urgency with the ref to stop the fight. I think linares could have probably survived the 11th round (there was like 30 secs left before the ref stopped it) and maybe even finish the fight. I'd definitely would like to see a rematch though.

Appreciate the heart he has got. Don't appreciate the sore loser attitude he possesses though.

His head started to get snapped from side to side on some of those last big shots, too much risk for his health.

An exhausted but still aware Linares, didn't even have the energy to complain ATM of the stoppage. So it looked like he didn't care, but IMO he did care but was just too tired and wasted to complain, but he had enough energy to block punches and survive the fight IMO.

What did you just said? you contradicting yourself, he was tired thats why he didn't care to conplain!!!! than means he quit, you understand he quit even thoug i have him winning almost every round, remains me of Margarito Cotto...LOL

I thought it was a tad premature.

Besides all the blood which made Linares look worse than he was, Linares was still blocking and moving away from Demarco's punches.

I think he could of lasted the distance if given the chance even though he was really tired.

                  Hopefully there is a rematch.

                    I agree it was premature.

It was stopped based on "appearance" instead of "is he hurt."

Because Linares was bleeding a lot but was not hurt. If the fight isn't stopped right there. He gets cleaned up and boxes his way to a 12 round Unanimous Decision.

Honestly. If all fights were stopped like that. Rocky Marciano would not be undefeated. Jorge Arce would not be looked at as the warrior he is. Definitely premature but I can see why the Ref stopped it.

May be or maybe Linares would have quit like Cotto Sucomb to Margaritos pressure it look to me that Linares's legs were gone @ that point of the fight and he would of quit any way. He didn't protest the stopage if he was able to continue wouln't you think he would have?
