Kell Brook ready for the big time?

After kell brooks latest win there is talk about andre berto, i feel this is a step too far too soon. who do you think would be a more suitable opponent? possibly fight luis collazo for a welcome fight in the states.

I think Berto is just what the doctor ordered for Brook..Zaveck is also a good choice,Jones Aydin..Somebody decent is what Brook needs, undefeat or with one lost and is starving..I'm ready to see what Brook really has against someone like that..How bout Abregu??Another good one or Alexander??

regardless what happens khan is fighting brook next year, i reckon ortiz would be too hot for brook right now, but senchenko is the weak link. i hope brook knocks out khan with his biscuit chin!!

For me 'big time' means fighting someone like Berto. They will try to get Senchenko though because he is the easiest option and has a title.

Right now Kell Brook does nothing to Khan, he has no experience fighting someone who is truly world class and on form.. and Khan is above world class and is arguably elite level already.

Not sure Senchenko would be easier based on styles. Berto is very open, flat footed & wreckless. He's a fair bit bigger than Berto as well, also undefeated. A lot of these undefeated Europeans are being very underrated due to their resumes slightly lacking IMO
I believe he was a very good amateur as well.

How can you say that last bit when Khan hasn't even fought at 147 yet? People just presumes it's easy to go up in weights, it takes time for you & your body to adjust bro & I assure you, those guys at 147 are a whole different calibre and you wouldn't believe the difference in strength & power.
7lbs in the lower weight divisions, makes a big difference, especially when you take into consideration most of those guys are around 160 on fight night.

great comments there, moving upto 147 is a different kettle of fish, when you are weighing in 24 hours before the fight and putting a stone on before the fight. khan cant take a lightweights punches, proven against prescott, gomez, limond who all dropped him. he got lucky against maidana because alex ariza has built him up good.

Here's the thing. Talent and experience are two very different but essential things. I'm from the UK so I know that Brook is really talented, but he just hasn't been tested at all yet. To use a recent example, take a look at James Degale who supposedly has beastly talent and yet he's had really tough times in his last two fights against limited opposition. That's why I just dont believe you can throw Kell Brook in with someone who is proven at a high level.

It's true Khan hasn't fought at 147 but as everyone knows he's a big light-welterweight and its not crazy to think he will fit into 147 comfortably when he does switch.

Brook would take out Berto no problem. Brook is skilled, heavy handed, confident. Berto is fast. Brook beats him nine times out of ten.
