but the reality is that sergio has no one to fight., i guess geale is realistically possibly the best guy at MW but i see andy lee getting the fight if he's dumb enough to take it. it would do good business around st patty's day in nyc or somewhere on the east coast.

the other thing is that sergio is looking for big money fights, he'd make more in russia with pirog than he would fighting in the us, not saying that he should. pirog should get his ass back here and make a name for himself IMO if he wants to be the best.
You bet, Rubio would be a good fight for Pirog, thats what I'm talkin about.

The kid seems to have " graduated " without me noticing

I also agree that it seems silly to chuck him in with Martinez right now.

At least give him 12 months to develop against higher level opposition before you feed him to the wolves, and Martinez is right on top of his game, I would be waiting to see if he showed signs of slipping.

I cant see the need to hurry.

I like that he wants it, unlike Chavez, and I agree that there aint much happening at MW..... but it is too soon for him.

But yeah, Lara is still jr middleweight sized himself, but he can probably handle most of the top middleweights even with the size disadvantage.
if i remember correctly, both dudes weighed in under 154 or at 154 that night. i believe pwill was actually 153.

I don't know. Let's just say if pirog fought pwill at 160, i'd be very worried about pwilly's health. pirog can fight southpaw or conventional and he's got more one punch power for sure than lara.

you can say pwill is a better name. lara looked like doo doo against a solid molina (although I gotta say that molina doesn't really impress me when I watch him fight) and he doesn't have much else on there. they both have kinda crappy resumes tbh. their resumes are about par for the course for mw right now- shi tty. ring magazine top 10 is littered with unproven guys (geale, prozka, jr, pirog, njikam, zbik), shot guys (pwilly), never will be's (rubio).

jmw has a much better top 10 imo and lara fits better there i think, plus there's bigger names (which he'll have a very hard time getting). rematch with molina is the way he should go IMO.

For years I've been saying Paul Williams is an overrated bum and a punching bag. HE PROVED ME RIGHT.
I dont rate Williams, but I would damn near bet my life that he beats Jacobs.

Lara is not a middleweight. He should prove himself first at 160 before challenging Pirog or Sergio.

Lara doesn't look like a big guy, the best fights for him are absolutely at 154. If he has to win a couple fights at middleweight to get known and force the big names in the ring with him, that's fine, but his goals should involve fighters at 154.
