Look, I have actually softened my stance a little, I dont have a problem with a Pirog/Martinez fight. The main reason why is because clarification is better than reading posts from children who have decided that Martinez is ducking a green kid.

I would prefer for Pirog to be allowed to continue to develop, but hey..... if the kid wants it, let him have it. But he can forget about fighting in Russia, that notion is absurd.

Its like people have forgotten that Martinez is the man at 160.

i like pirog, but I think it's a bonehead move to put him in with sergio right now. I'd much rather see him fight the french guy njam or rubio, or another contender...

but the reality is that sergio has no one to fight., i guess geale is realistically possibly the best guy at MW but i see andy lee getting the fight if he's dumb enough to take it. it would do good business around st patty's day in nyc or somewhere on the east coast.

the other thing is that sergio is looking for big money fights, he'd make more in russia with pirog than he would fighting in the us, not saying that he should. pirog should get his ass back here and make a name for himself IMO if he wants to be the best.

they fought at jmw, and I'm not so sure that pwill wasn't extremely damaged goods by the time they fought. if, at very least, the blueprint was laid out for him.

im saying pirog has a better MW resume than lara.....

lara is a small jmw when I look at him. i think its going to be a disadvantage if/when he goes to mw.


now pirog hasn't shown *** since he beat jacobs and has squandered all his momentum, but he does have some other solid wins on his resume besides jacobs.

Fight was @ 155 catchweight. That's middleweight. And Williams was a full fledged MW when he fought Lara. Even a downhill Williams is better than a downhill Jantuah and Jacobs.

But yeah, Lara is still jr middleweight sized himself, but he can probably handle most of the top middleweights even with the size disadvantage.
