How do you come to that conclusion? Dibella already made it clear the plan is Macklin on St. Patty's day in New York, most likely MSG. Floyd just BOMBED on PPV against an unknown in Ortiz but now GBP and HBO are going to throw another $25 mil down the drain so he could fight a guy who gives most of his tickets away for free and whose HBO ratings are never reported?



He's just not going to fight Pirog, has nothing to do with the vacation king. He would probably make 'only' $3 mil for that fight as well w/ no PPV upside, so that's not an excuse.

It's been a month, to the day, since the PPV. HBO ALWAYS has numbers within 5-10 days max. They're not reporting the number because they're siked about the 1.3 million buys they did and just waiting for the right time to release it to the public. The PPV bombed and they're keeping it under wraps. Everyone involved excluding the fighters probably took a loss, which is why Oscar was thinking about a comeback- GBP has no PPV stars and they just lost a ****load of money on the Floyd-Ortiz bomb.

For the record, the 1.3 million buys never came from GBP, it was just a story that floydhype printed after hearing that figure from an 'unnamed source'. The only thing GBP has said according to Rafael is that the number is over 1 million, but they don't know what the number is... that was 3 weeks ago.

Now if you can find me an article that breaks down how many buys came from cable and satellite systems and how much revenue was produced, I might take that mystery sources number a little more seriously.

Come on now, it's clear the card was a financial disaster and GBP and HBO are doing everything possible to keep it under wraps. It's been a month my dude, wake up.

Showtime never denied it, and now that they no longer have pacquiao, would probably have all the incentive to say the fight bombed.

aha, now I understand why they took the Darren Barker fight for $ 600k, and refusing Pirog for $3 million, to make Martinez look good ahead of a Mayweather fight that will give Martinez / DiBella $10-15 million..smart business but please be fair to the boxing fans while you still have us.. Sergio will not get that fighting Floyd, in fact, $6mm that Pirog is offering might be the high-end if he fought Mayweather.
The only reason I think Sergio would rather fight Mayweather for the same money, is location and legacy (not sure how much for fighting a welter).
