    Otis Grant

Yes, he's the SAME guy who got KO'ed by Roy Jones Jr, but he was also very green. Was in a brutal car accident 5 years ago, and slowly rebuilt his already solid boxing career. Just fought Wiggins and easily UD him winning arguably every round. Wanted to fight Marcus Beyer and have a shot at Lacy sometime next year. What you guys think of his chances? I think they pretty good, he's a southpaw boxer-puncher with some nice power. Please, no dumbasses that haven't seem him fight post. Thanks!

      hmm

Otis Grant was a 10 yr pro when he fought Roy Jones Jr.

That is not green at all. Not even close.

But anyway, Grant's a good fighter and his comeback has been looking good so far. He has a chance to make some noise in the division. He might get avoided though.

He's already being avoided by Markus Beyer and another Montreal-based fighter. Now he has to fight an up and comer (not sure his name) for the #1 contender spot even though he already has that spot locked....then he will fight for a title when Beyer stops ducking him!

I was very impressed with Grant when he beat Ryan Rhodes. He is very skilled and technically sound. I don`t think at this stage he could give Calzaghe or lacy a fight that he would win but certainly Bayer or an Anthony Mundine would be winnerable fights for him!

Otis Grant was a blown-up middleweight when he fought Jones Jr..
whereas Jones Jr was a roided-up middleweight.

I didn't expect him to beat Rhodes, but then again I'd not seen him fight It was just that my face was still stinging from when Rhodes beat me up in sparring a few years previous at Neville Brown's gym in Burton. Rhodes was an awesome prospect for me, I was suprised that he was handled because I just couldn't live with him.

Thing is though, you probably know this more than most people, Rhodes is actually very good. I think that the Ingle style that was forced apon him in light of hamed`s success with it wasn't his true boxing self. I remember when Jason Mathews destoryed him. Rhodes wouldn't alter his game plan, he just kept trying to land with an in and out hamed style. he didn't have the power nor the speed of Hamed to be as effective. I don't think Rhodes will be fighting for much longer now. But i'll say one thing. I rated Grant before the Rhodes fight, i`d see him get a draw ( should have been a win ) against Bradley and i knew he was top class. Rhodes, although beaten, did give him a good fight and having only like 20 fights up til then, i thought one day Rhodes might win a title. But sadly, i think a combination of his chin, no defence and the insistance of fighting like Naseem ruined him!
