spinks moved up to heavyweight and was great there too,
holmes was not old and out of his prime that
is why he beat Ray Mercer 6 years later and almost
      beat holyfield.

38 is old for a boxer and holmes had seen much better days, pluss he came from at least a year long lay off.

everyone knows that mike is almost 40
and has multiple injuries. those losses
            are excused. they mean nothing.

how about his loss to douglas, he was certainly not young?

              to holyfield( still not old).

to lewis (mike wasnt young but still lewis is older).

the best thing is that your excusing mike by losing at 39 at the same time you thinks its impressive to win over a 38 year old holmes LOL

he loss to holyfield and lewis because
he spent 4 years in prison for a crime
he did not commit. 4 years of not training
ruined his body. he took douglas litely and
did not train with kevin rooney. he was not
at his beat against douglas. none of these
guys could beat tyson at his peak which was
                between 1985 to 1989.

he aint a top 5 hw just because off not preparing fore douglas, a real champion is allways prepared and dont lose to that kind off competiton.

                  taking lightly is no excuse.

o and let me guess, his prime ended a week before fighting douglas

his prime ended when his trainer
                    kevin rooney left his team.

It is well known that Mike did not train for Douglas properly and that is in part becasue he did not have Kevin Rooney. Mike was not ready to fight that night and he got his ass handed to him.

Its funny how people say Lewis wasn't prepared for Rahman or Vitali, (which he wasn't)yet say that Mike was in his prime against Douglas.

Mike was clearly on the decline in his fight with Bruno, he was wild and looking for one shot, anybody who has studied Mike's career knows this.
