He let the ref know loud and clear that he wanted out of there and was looking for the "official" reasons he could be gotten out of there without looking like he was quitting himself.

No knock down Hopkins pushed Dawson off balance, and thanks to a better view of the ending, that is not a foul by Dawson, Hopkins jumped in and leaned on his back while Dawson tried to get him off of him you can clearly see Hopkins force his weight on Dawsons back.
No foul Hopkins quit... Echoles slammed Flopkins down much harder than that and Flopkins got up and fought on... he did not want to get up here, and to me Flops showed his age here.. he would be better off to hang em up.

what is he supposed to say that his arm wasn't f'd up? I don't get it. In hopkins mind he was slammed to the ground and hurt his arm. Is he supposed to say "the arm is totally fine, sir. No problem!"

Of course not! He's going to say my arm is hurt, but I'll continue.

Against echols he let the ref know his arm was hurt, but the ref did the right thing by calling time, giving hopkins a couple minutes and the fight then resumed. This ref made a quick ass decision then immediately bounced out the arena and probably the county.

Did you hear him say this? I'm not doubting you i just couldn't hear the conversation with the ref, I heard him say this in the post fight interview. Either way he should've know the ref wouldn't allow him to continue with one arm. If he really wanted to continue he should've just said "yes". If he really gave that answer it was just to make it look like he wasn't quitting imo. It's like if they ask you "Can you see" and you say "yes out of one eye". Obviously the ref would have to stop it.

Why say; "With one arm, yes"? Why not just say "Yes."

Looked to me like that statment was dressed with sarcasm.

Hopkins didn't want to continue. It's obvious.

If he wanted to continue he would have got to his feet.

He wouldn't say things like "I can't", "It's popped out!" and when he said 'with one arm yes' when asked again 'so can you continue' he said "It's popped out".

Dressed is being too simple. That comment was pimped out with a zoot suit, pocket chain and feather in the hat sarcasm.


He clearly showed he didn't want to continue.

He was not making it clear he wanted to continue what so ever.

He doesn't need to keep telling the ref his sholder is ****ed. He knows, the doctor is in there because he along with everyone in the arena knows his sholder is ****ed. But, if he truley wanted to fight on he should have got to his feet, and said "Yes, I want to continue, let's go" then I assume the ref would have give him some time to re-group. Instead of staying down following his 'With one arm yes' response with "Its popped out!". Further impying he's not fit to continue.

Plus, if he wanted to continue then why did he say "I can't"? That's what I don't get. That pretty much say's it all.

It's pretty obvious to me that Hopkins was not eager to continue.

Did he quit? Hmm, I don't know. I can't speak for Hopkins.

But what is clear to me is Hopkins was simply not eager to continue at all.

Natas, he wasn't slammed, he was thrown off. That's what happens when boxers don't like opponents putting all their weight on backs. If Bhop really got hurt, he caused it. You know, there's one way to fall to minimize chances of getting hurt. He knows that way, imo he put his elbow to land first purposely. He's smart enough to do it so I wouldn't put it past him.
