Floyd fought September. That's 5-6 months from now. Hell that's TOO LONG a break but of course you have to build these fights.

good for him, he should leave dibella when he has the chance. not sure if i'm interested in a catchweight fight with mayweather, but if it happens, good for martinez, it'll be the paycheck he has been hunting for. hopefully he doesn't retire after it though, if it happens next year.

What's so horrible about Dibella? If he does land the Mayweather fight, that's a pretty damn good job from Dibella.

naw, i just don't like how he's going about with pirog and then thinking about macklin or lee for him in march. he just gives off a vibe that seems like he is okay with putting martinez in with whoever as long as hbo takes it. then i remember an article with him saying something like they're not going to fight rubio to get to chavez, like cmon that's a better fight than macklin or lee. idk, i just think martinez would be a lot more succesful if he were with gbp or top rank.

So he was on a Spanish (from Spain) radio show just now and he mentioned he's starting his own promotional firm with his manager (Sampson Lewkowicz). He also said there's going to be a movie (or documentary?) about him.

Once again he reaffirms the negotiations with Mayweather are very advanced and concrete. He says he just has to wait one more week, but he's extremely sure the fight is going to be made.

I'm still sceptical at this... but if it happens well... can't say he is afraid of southpaws...

I don't think that this will for the MW championhsip - I don't think Mayweather cares about in how many weight classes he had a title... if the fight takes place and at 154 the haters have nothing to say anymore...

I ain't expected Martinez but I expected him to give us all one more run... he said he is back for about 4 or 5 fights and he knows as well - that long vacations will only erode his reflexes and speed... so I expected him to go out big... but Martinez is a surprise that's for sure... Martinez to me is kind of overrated and I think skill wise this isn't a contest but to many the size will be intriguing...

If he goes out like that with Ortiz (ok as a tune up) - Martinez - probably Khan - Pacquiao and probably until then Canelo is somebody - that's a very good ending to a great career - let's see and wait

Saw this coming a while ago. Martinez has nothing for Floyd at 154 or 160. Mayweather will win.

He's a great fighter, you don't get to be a top 3 P4P fighter by being garbage. Styles make fights, this fight is a nightmare for Martinez. That doesn't mean he's not that good. Floyd's style is a nightmare for almost everyone.

If it happens easy work for Floyd. Sergio is overrated but he's a much bigger threat than what Ortiz was. Looks like Pac Floyd will never happen and if this fight goes ahead then definitely won't.

eh, to be fair, it doesn't sound like Martinez is interested in Pirog at all. I doubt Dibella is forcing that opinion on him. Martinez is only interested in the big names, which Pirog doesn't have. If the Mayweather fight really is being negotiated, I think Dibella is simply throwing smokescreen at us so the Mayweather fight is a big surprise.
