People posting on this site, who one might assume are some of boxings bigger fans, routinely have such hatred and harsh feelings about the fighters who give the boxing action the fans crave. Often its "Go away, who needs you". Haye has his faults but I'm always a little sorry to see one of the bigger names hang 'em up when they still have something left.
There are so few boxing stars out there now. And so few fights that get your blood going.Comment

Even though he's said for years that this will be the date he will retire? We haven't seen the last of Haye yet, he"ll come back I think. Think he"ll leave it 2 years and when Wlad shows signs of slowing down/ageing he"ll come back. I don't think he ever wanted a slice of Vitali, that fight isn't winnable for him, the Wlad fight is, providing he gets his tactics right.Comment

If Wlad retired Haye it's only down to Haye's personality, not any kind of beatdown.
If Haye can't be the best, he's not interested. He's now fought Wlad and discovered he can't be the best until the Klitschkos retire, so he's out.Comment

He didn't even have to publicly hand it in with his usual excessive news catching flourish. He could have quietly let it expire. It probably is not yet the normal expiry date. He's a publicity hound, craves attention of ANY kind.Comment
