Bernard Hopkins Gameplan for Saturday is..

Via his interview today with ESPN Boxing he said:

Harry J (Houston)"What is your most effective weapon for getting past the reach advantage?"

    Bernard Hopkins (12:41 PM)
"Well, if you just look at common sense, if I'm playing basketball and I'm a guard, I'm not going to shoot outside on Wilt Chamberlain, a 7-footer, he'll just swat it down. But if an Allen Iverson goes to the basket to drive, I think you'll figure it out. I gave some knowledge with that question there. I hope you figure."

So if I'm reading this correctly, and I could be wrong. It sounds like Bernard's going to try and stay in Dawson's chest in this fight. At least close enough that Dawson won't be able to pump his jab effectively. How does everyone else interpret this? Shh don't tell John Scully!

Sounds like Hopkins is going to try and uglify this one, but hopefully with a higher work rate than say the Calzaghe fight? Some of his other comments in the interview suggested he wants to give the fans something to watch more like the Pascal fights than an overly technical battle..

Good post, you make good points. I think he's going to try and ruff it up and fight a rough tough fight inside. Make Dawson feel uncomfortable and get frustrated. Beware, excessive clinching and headbutting might put you to sleep by the 3rd round.

It's going to be my first boxing match on my new 42 inch television. I really hope I get some good action out of this card. I know I'm going to get psyched when Hopkins comes out with the mask on. Fingers crossed it doesn't peak there.

That's awesome man, it's the same size TV I have and I love it. I will hook up my laptop to TV because I don't like this fight being PPV. But yeah man I do hope we get action from both, I just want to see an entertaining fight. If both come with the right mindset AND DETERMINATION to win, we should see two hungry and good performances. I hope.

Nice, glad someone else has this size tv. Wasn't sure if I needed to spend more money on something bigger, but it looked very adequate at the store. This is an upgrade from a 19 inch tv........ However I watch most fights in bars, so haven't had to squint at too many big fights. Can't wait to try out the new Screen!

It depends on your preferences with B-Hop and what you like and don't but if you looking for some blood and guts action I say don't miss the Demarco vs Linares fight. Thats where the KO from the card will be at.
