Haye didn't lose because he was too small. It wasn't even a lack of skills.

He just has no workrate. I don't know if it's because he's scared to get hit or if his stamina just sucks, but he never lived up to his potential as a Heavyweight because dude has one of the worst workrates I've ever seen.

It's a shame too. Seeing someone with the power and speed of Haye just walk in circles for 90% of the fight is very frustrating.

It played a factor but it isn't the sole reason for it.

To be honest, it's because he lacks skill and fundamentals. Haye literally lives up to his moniker "Hayemaker" as that is literally all he throws. If he would have used side to side head movement. He would have easily avoided Wlad's jab. It would have taken some time to get the timing and range down but once it gets locked in, Wlad is effectively neutralized.

If Haye had the kind of form as Tyson. The bobbing and weaving sort of defense. He would have easily gotten around it and to the inside to do a lot of damage to that body.

Taken from the Lennox fight. I know it's Vitali but they both fight the same. Klitschko's can hardly fight on the inside. They for the most part clinch and use that huge body and weight to lean on opponents.

Haye weaves in, ****s to the body with his haymakers, gets out. Wlad easily loses that fight. As he shows absolutely ZERO variety in punch, outside of that jab.

Haye just doesn't have the skill nor basic fundamentals to have been able to pull that off. So instead, he blew his wad in 3 rounds and then ate jabs all night. No head movement(fundamentals) and no skill(haymakers till tired).

his main problem is that he literally from the beggining only believe he could win by ko'ing wlad

he did as he said, and threw nothing but bombs

Heart of a lion? No doubt that he is mentally tough? Being a boxer does take heart for sure but I wouldn't say that he proved any of these aspects about himself throughout his career. You could say fighters like Joe Frazier or Muhammad Ali had the "heart of a lion" but it's a stretch to say it about Haye whom it took years to even get in the ring with Klitschko, only to turn in an inept, uninspiring effort.

Sorry to say but a few years from now the man will hardly be remembered unless he does something memorable in his post-boxing career.

This isn't true though. Wlad was only able to land his jab consistently for 2 rounds(10 and 11). Haye was doing a good job of avoiding most of Wlad's shots. His biggest problem was that he didn't throw enough punches. He was making Wlad miss a lot but never followed up on it.

It's his work rate that prevented him from beating Wlad.

Yep spot on. Haye's head movement was one of the best things he did in the fight and one of his best attributes, Wlad missed an awful lot with the jab. You could see Haye was trying to give him the jab to counter, he'd get 1 punch home but couldnt follow with the 2nd. He did far better than most give credit.

It was his first time in with a heavyweight that big with that skill.

What a circle jerk excusefest for Haye... I know boxing scene isn't exactly the that place to come to for top rate boxing articles but this was beyond horrible. It is a shame that he was linked on the front page.

What a crock of ****. I don't remember anybody saying Haye was to small when he was crushing the giant Audley Harrsion. Lame.

He was getting tagged with that jab. It's the only punch Wlad throws and it was indeed landing.

Imagine if Haye would bob and weave to slip those punches. That alone closes distance. Now, imagine him unload from that close position(2-3 punches), to the body. Jab is useless that close. Wlad has no answer to this offense. Now, imagine that for the first half of the fight. No way Wlad has any energy left for the end of the fight. While Haye had effectively controlled his stamina useage and score many points with an effective gameplan.

Haye could have easily won with that method right? Just go over it in your mind first. Even with a low output, if it was all used with meaningful purpose, with no waste of energy or movement. He'd have easily won right?

Had nothing to do with size, he's no different from Pascal, in fact those two fighters are hard to distinguish when it pertains to their styles. Both are completely opposed to creating opportunities in the ring, they'd rather wait for them, no inside game either. He really doesn't have much of a skill set to be honest.

                      He's just not that good...
