If Calzaghe fought Froch's recent opponents...

In the same order. Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler, Abraham, Johnson and now Ward. What would his record be? I know Calzaghe beat Kessler who beat Froch but that doesn't mean anything. Styles make fights.

Would Calzaghe fight them 6 opponents in a row and only lose once?

He'd beat all of them with ease.

ward and froch would destroy calzaghe no doubt, i would slightly favor dirrell over him as well. johnson would knock him out. abraham would have a punchers chance but joe should decision him comfortably, pascal, taylor and obviously kessler too.

The only one he'd have problems with is Dirrell.

Froch hasn't fought Ward yet. And if Calzaghe fought him. I am sure Ward would beat Calzaghe.

the funny thing about boxing is you can have a guy, say calzaghe, and pick him over a guy like glen johnson. But you have to take into account tough fights all in a row. Calzaghe never in his life had back-to-back-to-back tough fights in his career. It was always bum after bum after bum after bum after bum after bum semi tough fight bum bum bum semi tough fight bum retire. so who knows how he would have done if he fought a tough string of opponents.

              That post is completely ridiculous.

Johnson knocking him out, Froch destroying him, are you out of your freaking mind. Think you'll find yourself in a minority there.

I'd favour Pascal over Froch in a rematch.

Ward would fair very well, close fight, and Taylor too as he's quite technical. Still likely wins though.

Apart from that, he clearly beats them all.

I'd forgotten our bet though, so with respect I'll pay it in double given the delay...

                  Calzaghe probably beats them all.

Pascal: Calzaghe goes to war early, but eventually embarrasses Pascal with his work-rate and combinations.

Taylor: tough fight, but Calzaghe is the more active fighter and Taylor isn't a hard man to hit. Down the stretch Calzaghe takes over, but it's not a landslide decision.

Direll: Calzaghe simply outworks him, but has a few problems with the speed equality and Dirrell's sharp punching.

Kessler: same result as when they fought first time.

Abraham: think the Froch-Abraham fight, but with even more punches landed upon Abraham.

Johnson: think the Froch-Abraham fight, but I have a gut feeling that Calzaghe goes down once. I think Calzaghe copes better with the right hand than Froch though.

Ward: coin-flip, but I'm not convinced that Ward can live with the relentlessness of Calzaghe. Ward hasn't fought anyone like Calzaghe, but Calzaghe has fought a better version of Ward in Hopkins, so I just favour Calzaghe.

All theoretical anyway, as it's unlikely that Calzaghe would have ever had the balls to match Froch for back-to-back opposition.

Really? Has Pascal hired a new conditioning coach? Pascal just doesn't have the gas in the tank to keep up with Froch down the stretch. Judging by his performances against Abraham and Johnson, Froch has grown into a craftier fighter as well, so I suspect that he wouldn't repeat the brawling start of the first Pascal fight. Pascal is only dangerous for the first five rounds and Froch would outbox him.
