Did David Haye duck Vitali by retiring?

Vitali offered him the fight. That would have been a nice pay day for Haye. Haye obviously knew he was no match for Vitali. He knew Vitali would destroy him.

Lennox Lewis Legacy was already set even if he did retire. I don't feel Haye accomplished enough in boxing to have a HOF or ATG career like Lewis. Far from it in my opinion.

he probably never liked fighting in the first place. he had all the ability just didnt have the heart. when i firts heard that he said he wanted to retire at 31( he might have said this a few years ago, im not sure) it rose a redsflag. what kind of champion wants to retire so early before acomlishng very much. he let us down with the wlad fight...

the only reason i would want to see a vitlai-haye (mis)match would be to see him get beat up.

          Yeah he did.

How many times does a fighter get a guaranteed opportunity to fight for another title and huge payday after just getting beat by another champ in a rather pathetic performance?

I don't ever want to hear or see Haye ever again.

The thing i dont understand with haye is he said he wants to beat both brothers. He failed to beat Wlad, so at least try to beat one of the bros at least! You said the toe effected you so prove it with a performance against Vitali, cos no one believes the toe story.

Adam Booth and David Haye both said that Haye would retire on his 31st birthday, they said that when Haye started boxing at the age of 12.
