American boxingscene SUCKS right now unless you're floyd, pac, or cotto. . . Sergio's level?! BWAHAHAHAHAHA! The guy who got TKO'd BY MARGARITO?! Who barely beat Pavlik by a few rounds? WHO GOT BEAT BY WILLIAMS??!?!
Hopkins went to MOntreal because HE KNEW that is where the fans would come out, and where the money was - a bigger event.
AND U DUMBASSES - HBO WILL STILL PAY money and televise the fight if it's in Russia! Damn I swear. . . boooooyyyyyy. . . .
HBO will not pay money to cover the fight in Russia. Martinez's numbers are not very strong in the United States and Pirog is unknown to the people that run the sport, casual fans. If they do it will be for a minimal amount due to tape delay and be matched up with a live event in the United States.
As for your Hopkins example, not even comparable. First off ***face HBO let Hopkins walk when he first matched up against Pascal. It wasn't until the both put on a good event that HBO showed interest. Not to mention Hopkins is a staple of American boxing and Martinez simply is not.
Yeah, I'm the ignorant one. BTW, I'm not fat at all ***face. Brush up on the background of boxing before you try to spit ****** **** also. It's rather annoying.Last edited by Check; 10-11-2011, 10:49 AM.

For all we know the record sum Sergio would be getting is a couple a hundred grand more. That amount of money is not worth going to Russia for.
THIS is the only logical argument the MARTARDS can utilize at this point. . .
But still, if that sum that is just a few hundred grand more IS ON TOP OF the guaranteed 2 million HBO would pay him, he still will look cowardly and fiendish for not fighting Pirog. . . HBO wants the fight, the fans want the fight. . . and sergio fights for the fans, right?! he's the self-proclaimed people's champ, right?! oh wait. . .

Mackilin got robbed by Sturm in Germany, and Sturm is the number 2 rated fighter in the division. So, by using simple logic. shouldn't Mackilin really be more of a threat since he is the more accomplished fighter.
Pirog beat one dude who was an untested prospect and all of a sudden Pirog is Sugar Ray Robinson.

Bottom line is that Pirog has offered to fight him in America or Russia. Pirog's team believes there would be more money from investors if they fight in Russia, however they are certainly willing to fight Martinez in America which would be 100% funded by HBO.

HBO hasn't even show the slightest interest in Pirog as he sits in Russia fighting club fighter after club fighter. I'm pretty sure a Cotto, JCC Jr, Alvarez or a number of other fights are much higher in their eyes.

This fight can only land in America but neither have a following that can justify the huge amount of money that it would justify HBO spending more money than any other WCB event for the year. Serg had to give away tickets to his last fight and I doubt MGM/Mirage is dying to hold the event.
