850k is a little low, 1 mill is solid (which I'm sure the actual number will exceed).

well, the "disaster" isn't that they lost money (which they probably didn't). the disaster (if 850k is the number) is that it failed to reach projected expectations which might effect floyd's future ppv sales and probably will affect floyd's guaranteed purses in future fights. at worst floyd will not be able to demand $40 mill anymore, at best $40 mill is his cap. Also it might affect floyd's reputation which might hurt floyd's pride, but who really cares about that.
I doubt it would effect future sales, just look at Oscar, he had a bunch of numbers lower than 850K and nobody was questioning his star power, will it effect what deal Floyd gets money wise on his next fight possibly but I doubt he will be hurting and if his next fight does gangbusters the sky is the limit with upside, with a number like 850k he wouldn't really be getting into that upside.

It would be a bit disappointing for those involved if true because I am sure they wanted to be the biggest PPV of the year but it ain't that crucial if Floyd's low end is 850k that is pretty good that is a good jump off point not everything is always going to be a blockbuster.

And this is all if, we'll see what it turns out as.

I was just looking at the twitter conversation that sparked the creation of this thread between Steve Kim and BoxingTruth...the guy he was talking to when he posted it was saying he is sticking to his estimate of 800k for Mayweather-Ortiz and that Pac-Mosley didn't do any better either...and they both agree that the fights are still successes with that many PPV sales...

well, the difference is that DLH was the only show in town and didn't have any competition like floyd does.

I think it will effect floyd's next fight if he choses his next opponent incorrectly, but I'm sure floyd will do better than this ppv with Ortiz if he fights Khan especially if they fight in the UK and if Khan can get more exposure here in the USA.

Yea but still there is a 1 and 1a, we can argue all day about which is bigger but really it is them and everyone else.

This doesn't really change that, now if his next fight does worse now we are talking a trend but as long as he can at least maintain he should be fine, but yea if they mess up the next opponent that would certainly produce that downward trajectory but if this fight is a bit of a disappointment one would think they would do a better job next time.

It was some shit said on Twitter, and pretty sure it is being taken out of context.

I don't even care what Floyd or Pacquiao gets, but Pacquiao ain't getting no damn 40 million for a fight. Hell, I think he'll have to fight 3 times just to get to 60 million. And even then, with the 27% Arum takes, and the 10-15% Roach takes, Pacquiao will have a hard time getting to 60 mill. Floyd makes more than 80 mill in two fights and even after he pays Ellerbe, Haymon, Schafer, and Roger, he still has more than Pac.

lmao very easy pulling out numbers out of your a.s.s... stfu if you dont have proof with your numbers
