canelo was toying with Gomez. That Cotto rock is misleading. Hes taken bigger punches from bigger guys with no problem. He may not be true champion status yet, hes not a prospect anymore. I see him as a legit contender who happens to have a belt.

A world champion that needs to step up in class, that's rather backwards, isn't it?

I didn't see him toying with Gomez at all, imo he was actually having a little bit of trouble with him. I was a few beers in so maybe ill give it another watch. He may not be? Come on he definitely isn't at this point. Im not saying he doesn't have the potential to be very good or that he is some sort of bum but after watching him a few times I would have to say this idea that he is cant miss is ridiculous. I doubt he is matched with the winner of Angulo Kirkland and if he is I think he gets stopped.

Oh and Angulo is better boxer? Come on man, the guy swings until something hits. All you need is timing against the guy. Most of his kos have happened with his opponent on the ropes. If Canelo avoids that I think he's good. I used to have the same mentally, "Oh yeah Angulo murders Canelo in one round." But now I don't think so.

Stop bringing up the whole Cotto thing, he made his big US PPV debut on the biggest card of the year, he admitted that he was nervous, he was also just 19 years old with a lot of hype behind him coming into the fight. You certainly can't compare that Canelo to today's Canelo, two very different fighters. That's what happened with Ryan Rhodes, all night he was looking for one big punch because according to him "He got rocked by a light welterweight, and hey I'm a middleweight, therefore I can knock him out."

Gomez never hurt Canelo, he was a lot busier but was in over his head from the start. Not quite sure why people hate on Canelo so much and go as far as calling him a bum or even a hype-job. The kid has legit skills and power, at that age we should be privileged to see someone that far advanced. But above all else, someone that creates excitement and a lot of "what if" possibilities.

Canelo is a better boxer than Angulo. Angulo has more power, so I see a very defensive fight from Canelo sticking and moving, if it happens. Which I doubt it will.
