i hear u but it just seems like your trying to make sergio's cherry pick move seem as if its not a cherry pick since he had "tough" opponents prior to facing barker. u come and say its a cherry pick move BUT sergio have fought tough opponents before that. and?? is it a cherry pick move or not? there is no well he had face tougher opponents before barker.

Jesus Christ, who the hell brought up Pacquiao? What does this thread have to do with him? Why are some *******s so insecure about Barker giving a half-decent performance? We're supposed to be boxing fans and be happy about a competitive fight. Not be butthurt every time our favorite fighter doesn't quite look like god.

People talking about Pacquiao here are idiots.
As for Barker, he did well and had he kept his work rate up... he would have won IMO. Sergio was there to be eaten after the second round. I know Sergio was getting rounds for just being busy

Based on what? The times he opted to commit entirely he was rocked. What that tells me is that he loses that fight if he increases his workrate. He didnt show enough while punching to indicate he can throw punches AND avoid contact

            We have an early winner.

He does not have the power fight that style and beat the Champ and he knows that.

he broke martinez' nose pretty good.

needed to be a little more creative in there. he was coming at martinez in straight lines, so just opening up more wouldn't have helped by itself.

darren still gave a much better account of himself than ryan rhodes did with alvarez.

Barker deserves to hold a W strap ... he broke Sergio's nose and gave him a headache for half the fight (the same guy who broke Pavlik and destroyed Williams). Martinez showed his class as expected ... great fight! ... so just how good is PW after all?

YOu should have but you couldn't....

...Martinez is too quick and Barker is just too scared. It's like watching Pac/Clottey. At least Clottey admits Pac is too fast.

barker gave a good impression, yes. because he came in with a good game plan. obviously they studied martinez very well, and prepared some counters (it's not really hard to prepare, i have trained boxing and we learned many). barker has a good technique, but he was simply too slow.
rhodes i think was a decent oponent for canelo, but those body shots definitely got him.

I didn't know anything about the guy but after the fight he got my respect he tried and fought a disciplined fight. Even after the fight I heard Martinez talking to him in Spanish and he told him he fought well and had a lot of heart even thought I doubt Barker understood him..lol
