But that championship meant something to Tony and when faced with making a career high payday or defending his belt he defended his belt. Most guys would have just gotten stripped no problem.
marg should have pulled a mayweather and just waited till williams lost and then said "see he's a bum!" but marg had to face his mandatory unlike mayweather who doesn't have mandatories because he's a special needs boxer.

Well he couldve just dropped the belt. But he chose not to. So I would still count it.

Didn't Jones wanted a Tyson fight and nothing else. In the Ruiz post fight, he said he'll stay only for a Tyson fight. People were asking for a Jones-Lewis fight but can't really blame Jones for not wanting to fight Lennox.

Roy wanted to fight Lewis and Lewis agreed but he was scheduled to fight Kirk Johnson first(who pulled out and was replaced by Vitali). After the Vitali fight, Lewis told Roy he was gonna retire and he did. Holyfield turned down a fight with Roy because he had legal issues with Don King. Tyson agreed to fight Roy but he needed to get out of an exclusive deal so he filed for bankrupcy but he filed chapter 11 instead of chapter 7 and all his money went into an escrow account and was blocked so the fight couldn't be made.

David Haye turned down a big money fight with Wlad to fight Valuev. Thus when Haye did fight Wlad it would be for the WBA belt too.

                    What a hero.

And this alone shows why you should take the money fight over peanuts. Not only that, but the right thing was shane to give oscar a rematch after some people felt that oscar was robbed.
