Comments Thread For: Juan Carlos Gomez Has Successful Shoulder Surgery

The "Black Panther" Juan Carlos Gomez (49-3, 37KOs) was successfully operated on by Dr. Andreas Werner. The were several hours of surgery on the left shoulder and everything went well, but a second injury was discovered during the procedure. In addition to the pre-diagnosed torn tendon in his left shoulder, the doctor found a torn articular lip.

that will explain lots on why he couldn't beat darnell wilson. at least he didn't quit but he should not have fought & im very surprised his trainer hid this from his promoters.losing to wilson is a huge set back but he should get a mulligan when it comes to rankings.at least he gave wilson credit & didnt make excuses after a loss like david haye. either he needed the money or his trainers were totally negligent letting him fight.since he got fired it sounds like the later.no promoter likes his contending HW injured especially one that is getting bad advice.hope he recovers quickly & gets in better shape.

It's okay. In the matter of months that he's out, Gomez will fight the same number of quality opponents that he's fought in the last 2 years combined, and won't even lose in the process this time!

Good to hear the surgery was successful. At his age and with his long history it might be time to hang them up.
