Very good question and I have asked this question for years. Floyd retires or goes on vacation alot and when that happens he vacates the title.
Typical Floyd tends to allow everybody to face each other and comes back in for one fight to sweep the last man standing.
Manny well we never know which weight class he will be fighting at next.
the stars of the sport get to pick and choose who they want to fight, this is another reason I am against the idea of the Ring title, they can never enforce a mandotory defense.

beyond me, must be because this is the only sport i can think of that allows certain indiviuals to become bigger than the sport, and there is more coruption than they no what to do with. This sport needs a UFC style set up, where losing is less important and putting up a good fight is what matters.

a more accurate statement would be floyd waits till the last man standing is someone he can easily beat. when cotto beat judah, quintana, and mosley he he was too dangerous. when margarito beat cintron, clottey, and cotto he was too dangerous. when mosley beat margarito floyd jump in it! floyd just waits till someone crappy or old like baldomir and mosley are on top for that brief moment(1 fight) and takes them out before someone else does. he stays away from the well established guys.

I say they dont take the fights agast their mandatories because a lot of times the people thgat the bolt organization has as the mandatory wont create enough buzz and revenue.

You can add Ortiz to that list.

he wasn't even the last man standing that's why i didn't include him. the last man right now is pac. ortiz was just some guy meekly standing in the corner pretending to be good and floyd ran over and punched him in the jaw.
