    Manny Pacquiao vs. Mike Jones
    Floyd Mayweather vs. Devon Alexander

Something tells me HBO wouldn't be too interested in either of these fights on PPV.

I was just thinking this the other day. It seems as if there are no such thing as fighting your mandatorys anymore. Its as if you can do as you please.

As much as I love this sport, I must say that it has to be the most disfunctional sport of all sports. There's no order. Its like a free for all. Fight when you want and who you want.

its simply because if they made those too fight mandatory fights they wouldn't generate as much money. If they let them pick fights then they have more money coming to them because of the opp draw power. Do u kinda get what I'm saying?

Most guys they strip because they want the belt free because if a guy isn't active enough they aren't getting their cut. It is different with megastar fighter though because they make the organization more money so it pays to let them sit on the belts, plus there is the prestige factor of such a fighter holding an organizations belt which is also worth is weight in gold.

Yeah and if they don't fight long enough, they just give them an emeritus belt or a super championship which basically means they can defend whatever belt when they want.

I love how the WBC stripped Sergio and gave him an emeritus title just so they could make some money giving JCC Jr the regular championship.

Despite his #1 ranking Alexander is not the WBC mandatory...it has been Aydin for over 2 years

Yea, purely business whoever can bring them money is who they want o have their belt and if two guys can bring them money well just have two belts and collect from two fighters.

What a simple way to double profits!

I'm curious...what happens to someone like Aydin as the mandatory? Is he, in any way, compensated monetarily by the boxing organization for being a mandatory? I guess, sort of like step-aside money for not making a fuss of any kinds?
