I have nothing against Calzaghe, but prime Roy (before he fought Ruiz) would have beaten Joe senseless. The handspeed might have been equal, but Joe had no power compared to Roy. Every punch landed on Joe by Roy would have been equal to five coming back the other way. People forget, Roy wasnt just blazing fast, he had one punch KO power at 175 and below.

Trouble is it WAS all about skill as the far more talented Calzaghe Lacy'd Jones in front of his home fans.

Prime Joe would have knocked Jones block off
LOL, no, just no. Stop it.

This is what Calzaghe said in the run up to the Jones fight:

''My son searched Jones on youtube when he heard I was fighting him and he got worried after he saw the highlights of his career and how great he was. I said, don't worry son, he's not like that now''.

          Theres your answer.

Sorry, but this is simply not true. I've watched that fight at least 20 times.

Not once have I ever scored it for Hopkins. Even giving him the benefit of the doubt. HE WAS JUST TOO INACTIVE. Now let's lay this myth to rest already!

He also got beat in the first J.T.fight clearly I thought as well. Another fight people thought he won.

And he lost for the same reason, both times: HE DID NOT DO ENOUGH AGAINST A MORE ACTIVE BOXER.

He couldn't negate neither Taylor, nor Calzghe's output (like he does everyone else.) and lost both fights CLEARLY.

            CASE CLOSED.

                  Let's use logic here:

                  OK Jones > Prime Calzaghe

                  THEREFORE

                  Prime Jones ? Prime Calzaghe...

The answer, "Alex, What is '>>' ?"

You must answer in the form of a question.

This would have been a good fight, Put it this way, Joe would of stood a better chance than Ben because of style alone..I can't tell a clear winner, But both Roy and Hopkins wanted no part in Jo thats the truth..

You must understand that Joe's style might not look to great to someone who dont know what there looking at but, He comes forward and doesn't get hit, You can't even counter him his boxing brain is one of the best there ever was..I have said this many times before Joe will stand in front of you and fight no matter who you are or was, What more can you wish for..He aint running lol I think its a shame to be honest that because he is english a lot of people don't give him his due respect.

CAN you imagine IF Mayweather said the same on the prospect of fighting Pacquiao?

Calzaghe was OK but nowhere near great status.

i remember reading that back in the day aswell..also frank warren calz promoter at the time said himself that calz really doesnt want any part of RJ
