Wtf is dis guy talkin about! Why doesn't he mention maybe if Barker actually tried letting his hands go a bit than he wld see how his ass wld get dropped to the canvas! This guys is unreal! Sergio haters need to realize that its like any other sport you compete to the level of ur competition! If Barker is playing PeekaBoo defense all night with Martinez, what does that do? Makes it for a boring and less active fight! I bet u anything , if Barker let his hands go he wld be sleeping by the 4rth round! There is only one person I see beating this dude and that is Floyd! Especially while Martinez's hands are at his sides a lot, Floyd will connect with those right hands all night! Showing his age? agree that Martinez looked 'off' -- was not sharp on offense, waited too long to counterpunch, wasn't landing hard accurate punches until near the end -- but Barker was moving on him a lot and never made a sustained effort to win the fight -- hard to look good against a rangy guy with some skills who doesn't engage -- let's see what happens next time....

I remember some people saying hopkins showed his age against Keith Holmes (also at age 36), which he won rather easily but didn't look pretty doing it. Then in his next fight of course went on to put on a masterful performance against Trinidad.

So yeah, I take that with a grain of salt.

Me too. It is possible to get old overnight, but I think that Barker was better than expected, he came to fight, and the broken nose may have affected Sergio's approach early.
