I would love to see if this was reversed, would Mayweather Jr get a rematch? If Ortiz just took his belt in the same manner.

IMHO Mayweather Jr would get the rematch.IMHO Ortiz would give it to him.
Get your facts right, son. When Haymon and Mayweather gave Ortiz and GBP green light for a rematch they said no - right after the fight and 24 hours on. Now, they're out doing damage control and try to convince the public that Ortiz wants a rematch when he really doesn't. Ortiz changing stories 3-4 times about the headbutt, smiling to get out of the fight after getting his ass whopped, Oscar trying to discredit Floyd's win with accusations of invisible elbows...You see a pattern here?

No, if Floyd was the "victim" most of the haters (who call themselves "boxing fans"), would hail Ortiz as a champion and say that Floyd wanted a way out AND that he should have protected himself at all times.

    Double standards for double morons.

Ortiz did the same thing against Berto. Ortiz just missed his shot - like he did on Floyd most of the night. But I guess that doesn't apply to your fellow Mexican, which doesn't come as a surprise, as I can see that you also sport Margarito as one of your favorite fighters.

Tbone, you do realize that there's a difference between opinion and bias, right? Bias is something that can taint both straight news reporting and opinion columnists, leading to them giving an inaccurate portrayal of a situation.

Thanks for reading, even though you disagree with me.

          Good stuff.

Greismann telling it like it is.

Mayweather's finishing punches was unsatisfying and yes... semi-cheap. Those punches robbed us of what might have been a good Floyd-fight which is a rarity. Sure the punches wasn't illegal and I basically blame Ortiz for giving such a prolonged longassed apology.

          Rematch? Nah.... Bring on Pac!

To add on to Mr. David...

            Tbone:

And you do realize that being the star boxer Mayweather Jr. is, there is always an iron-clad rematch clause in his bouts. So of course, he would get one! Ortiz on the other hand, being he was not the draw, could not negotiate such a rematch into a contract for himself. And Mayweather doesn't need to give him one.

Invisible elbows? I feel that Ortiz really screwed himself and us boxing fans by not paying close attention to "Million Dollar Baby" and keeping his guard up at all times. But that doesn't erase the fact that he was cracked with Mayweather's elbows all throughout the fight up to the second right before the head butt.

On top of that, on Ortiz' 3rd apology attempt, Floyd steps on his left foot right before the cheap left and even cheaper right. Money May is no fool. He's knows Pac Man eats his donut and passes him his first L to smoke on!

What seems the most ironic to me is - for all the promotion that GBP, 24/7 and Oscar put in to the fight to create more fans for Ortiz, it seemed to be working (as evidence through the masses cheering on and chanting Victor Ortiz name during the fight). However, where the ironic part comes in is through his actions and especially AFTER the fight, he may well have lost the newly acquired and even some of his loyal fans by the way he conducted himself following the knock out. I was utterly disappointed in the way he acted like he could have cared LESS after what he and many interpretted as a cheap shot by Floyd Mayweather. His smiling and shrugging his shoulders like 'it ain't nothin but a thang' attitude made it hard for me to feel any kind of sympathy for him in the end. Take for example, while Ortiz sat on his stool being examined by doctors after the k.o., Floyd came over to check on him, and Victors face lit up like a child who just saw Santa Clause - got up and hugged him as to say 'thanks again for the big payday bro'. I mean, I didn't expect him to go all Zab Judah on Cortez or anything - but damn, show a little pride if you really feel like you were wronged. Obviously at the time he didn't, but NOW he does. With a little Oscar encouragement, Victor Ortiz now seems to feel like he is the victim of everyone EXCEPT himself.

The picture in my signature is an example of what made me sick to my stomach after the fight.

Victor Ortiz: *shrug* "Oh well, it happens." *smile*

Side note: Joe Cortez DID motion them to fight and said "Lets go". BUT - then why in the holy HELL wasn't he frikn paying attention after he told them to start fighting again??? He never even knew what REALLY happened unitl he was able to watch the replay. THAT is incompetence at it's finest.

That’s what we wanted to hear from Victor Ortiz. It’s what we should’ve heard from him after his knockout loss against Floyd Mayweather Jr. It’s what he should’ve said about how he intentionally head-butted Mayweather multiple times, how he bulled his head against Mayweather’s face throughout the bout, how he blatantly launched himself off the canvas, leading with his head and drawing blood from Mayweather’s mouth.

We wanted him to say that he lost his cool first and his focus next, that he apologized more than he needed to, that he forgot he was in a fight, that the referee had told him to get back to boxing and yet he’d left his hands down and his chin exposed.

Instead we got fingers pointed at Mayweather, at referee Joe Cortez, at the Nevada State Athletic Commission, but never at Ortiz himself. Joining the 24-year-old fighter on a media conference call last week were his manager, Rolando Arellano, and his promoter, Oscar De La Hoya. [Click Here To Read More]

Over 2 weeks since this fight has been over and i still dont know what the hell fight Delahoya was watching.Could it have been entertaining if it wasnt stopped by the LEGAL shots by Floyd, yes. But I dont see where Vic was starting to take over. All i seen was him getting hit more and more as the fight would have gone on.Maybe Floyd didnt buckle him but when have you seen Floyd buckle anyone inside the first 6 rounds.Floyd landed 27 punches to Vics 9 in the 4th round.Yet theses haters and clowns still say Ortiz was winning the 4th round
