Where were the "overrated" threads after Pacquiao looked average against Clottey and Mosley? Two fighters in which the majority predicted he'd win by TKO.

Oh I know why he didn't stop Clottey, because he was covering up the whole fight. Wait, that sounds familiar. Wasn't Barker just covering up the whole time? Why wasn't Mosley knocked out? Well, that's because Mosley was just jabbing and jabbing and refused to engage. I paid a total of $100+tax for those two fights, and got pretty boring results. In Martinez vs Barker, it was more exciting than those two fights, but with the opponents behaving similar, and I watched it with my normal subscription of HBO. Actually Barker was more game than Clottey and Mosley.
They were taking up the first two pages on NSB. Were you not paying attention?

If Martinez is in the Pacquiao/Mayweather discussion, he should be criticized the same way those two are for losing a couple rounds to a guy like Barker.

Yeah, but c'mon Kev... I mean I could agree with this if he fought Cotto or somebody last night... but to win every round against Barker even though he had an off night... doesn't impress me too much... with Sergio it is simply this and that is not his fault... the fighters of today are simply incomplete... and a fighter who has speed alone is hard to beat for about 85% in their division only speed alone... now you put on top that he has ok reflexes and decent power and he is so hard to beat for almost anyone...

To tell you the truth... I would see him loose at 154 to almost anybody who is any good of the short past... IMO he looses to Forrest, Wright, DLH, Trinidad, probably even Mosley at 154 (at 147 for sure)... I just don't see this greatness... he is good enough for most because he has some abilities that are hard to handle for guys who ain't have timing, defense or boxing technique... I don't think that Martinez is all that great to be honest

Guys like Mosley, Clottey are simply an different level than Barker and have some decent wins under their belt

"diving" darren barker has to work on his knockout face. it was too obvious. even paul briggs said he was faking. likar ramos could teach him a thing or 2. just lie there with your eyes closed till the ref reaches ten then get up and collect your check. no need to go 11 rounds.

*looooooooool* diving Darren BAKER dude... you got that wrong...

That's true - I voted for that as the knockout of the year - that was one hell of a performance by Ramos... this dude was out cold after he layed comfortable *loooooooooooooooooooool*

You will laugh now because it will remind you of another favorite of yourselve but the punch and how Martinez threw it looked so much like a slap of Calzaghe... and it was a slap... if Martinez only knew where Baker's ******nite was he could have ended it way earlier *lol*

He's good enough for Manny and Floyd to duck him.

That's a good point, Kev. When you think "off night" you think, a guy lost the fight e.g. Berto against Ortiz. I don't think Sergio won all the rounds but he dominated and was in control virtually the whole fight, against an opponent who was in survival mode most of the time. If this can be counted as an "off night" then, the fighter in question must be extremely good and fans' expectations very high...

barker and briggs worked together to invent the grazing punch fall to your knees dive. innovators of their time.

The Patriots should just say **** it and put Wilfork at cornerback.

What should that imply... I'm pretty sure they also both duck Hopkins... Pavlik... Klitschko... and and and...

154 is what... Sergio's second weight class?

Manny and Pac walk around at 147-150 pounds dude... for them it is their 5th or 8th weight class... so what should that imply??? Just show me the fighters that fight in the weight class that they actually walk around real life and then you know how unusual that is for fighters... it is not Pac or Mayweather's fault that Martinez is dying for a payday... what you ask them to do is the same if you would ask Sergio to go up to 168 pounds... and you know how that would play out right???
