I'm just saying they were both beasts at WW. Beasts! Meaning bad motherfuckers! IN GENERAL!

I would stay here longer and educate you son but Dexter is about to come up.

      yeah he lost to mosley
i had always felt he fought the wrong fight in the 1st fight
he was walking flat footed strait ahead
imo if he boxed on his toes it would have been a diffrent fight

The version of Oscar that fought Chavez would decision Floyd if he could not knock him out (Floyd is a good survivor with a good chin), and he'd beat Manny to a pulp.

Back in those days De La Hoya had twice the speed of the shell that fought these two fighters. Good footwork, underrated jab, fluent combinations, murderous left hook. Manny wouldn't be able to get in enough. Floyd would lose the battle of the jabs to a person with much better reach - in fact, the times Oscar had success versus Floyd, it was with the jab, I remember Hopkins hollering to him all night to jab more - and Oscar would have too much power for Floyd to handle, plus a good enough chin to not have to respect Floyd's punches too much.

I don't think either fight would be close, honestly.

I don't think Pernell and floyd is very similar, but one should at least note how mediocre oscar could look when he had trouble finding the target. And that was an over the hill pernell.

Trinidad had about 15 defences of his title mostly or all by KO. Which means that, since he beat ssome very good unbeated fighers, in his time, he was unbeatable.

So lets get back to the subject, shall we? Mosley is a HOF'er no doubt. But, Mosley wasn't highly regarded prior to the first Oscar fight and that's my point. It was seen as Oscar cherry picking Mosley who hadn't look spectacular since he jumped from LW skipping JWW. Mosley was considered smaller. And, it was seen as a pretty big upset at that time when Mosley beat Oscar.
There had always been a local rivalry between them and Mosley was irritated at the excessive praise that Oscar generated. He was determined to beat him, and he actually won that fight at least 116-112 or better. The split was a farce.

This is what I believe. Both had excellent chins and would have backed Mayweather up all night. And they were both as fast as Mayweather, Mosley actually the fastest of the three both hands and feet. And heavy punchers throwing excellent combinations.
