Barker was his second true Middleweight fight (Pavlik being the first). He even looked short (but stacked) against Dzinziruk who was moving up.

I think now is perhaps the time to officially go after one of the 154lb champs. Probably Margarito if he beats Cotto.

Is there anything left to prove at 160?

I think after seeing him last night, 168 would be ridiculous.
Martinez should be fighting at 154. He was pushed to fight at 160 cuz nobody wanted none of him at junior middleweight. He got a great opportunity to fight for the middleweight tittle and he took it vs pavlik. He stayed at 160 for a big payday vs Chavez jr. Will that day come? i'm not certain it will.

With Pirog calling him out it wouldn't look right, but I would have opt for 154.

Because of size? He was only like an inch shorter then Barker.

He just fights bent over making him look small

such a surprise manny is for once fighting guys his own size? marquez and manny will both weigh 148 on fight night. . manny is NOT BIGGER!! bradley will have about 5-7 pounds on manny after rehydration. . .

ortiz had 15 pounds on floyd after rehydration?!

POPPA TONY DID NOT raise a coward! DADDY MARGARITO did not raise his son sergio to be a BEGGAR and mooch off others names who have WORKED THEIR WAY for ten years!!! His son (POPPA TONY's) should be giving the fan THE BEST possible fights. . . If manny has gave up 15-20 pounds for fights against Cotto, Clottey, and Margarito. . . POPPA TONY's son steroidgio maravagina can give up 15 pounds against ward/froch winner, or bute. .

to show you exactly how big maravagina is. . .have a look at this:http://www.boxingscene.com/30-day-we...ams-162--32192 176 pounds. . . me and POPPA TONY say to you THANKS!

Give me a break move down? Hes p4p top notch supposedly, so why cant he fight at 160lb, as when he is talking about fighting FLoyd or Pac he says he is prepared to move down to 154 like its some big sacrifice?

Pac has moved up untold amount of weights, fighting bigger guys. So if Sergio is good dont lower expectations of him please.

I disagree, Larr. The mw is starting to look good at the level of talent is growing. You got Pirog, Sturm, Quinlon, Golovkin, etc. I say Dibella takes the Martinez show over to Germany and start taking on those guys. Martinez may not be able to sell out in the U.S. against the top European mw's but in Germany I guarantee that there will be filled arenas.

Wow. How can you be a fan of boxing and hate on a good fighter like sergio martinez. This is not being a fan of boxing this is simply sweating the 2 guys that are the most popular. Theres nothing wrong with an athlete trying to make money. Looks like someone took dyckriding 101 in college.

Manny and Floyd are their own men - THEY BRING THE MONEY - Sergio does not. . . So therefore Sergio should PROVE HIS METTLE, and BECOME HIS OWN MAN and go up in weight and beat ass at higher weights. . . LOOK HOW MANY CLASSES Floyd and manny have blown through? Sergio didn't do **** at 147 except get SONNED by Margarito. . . At 154 he DREW Cintron, and at 160 he lost to Williams once and beat Williams once and beat Pavlik. .

Since when is moving up and down in weight classes a bad thing? Even Manny and floyd have moved down a division once they went higher then they were comfortable. This is a horrible topic to be debated. Its extremely pointless. Who wouldnt want to see better fights as fans??
