While I agree with this, Martinez should have started hitting him to body consistently once he realized that Barker wasn't going to come out of his shell. Martinez didn't show quite the adjustment that I would have liked to see from him. No disrespect to Barker-he put on a good performance-but Sergio should have taken him out earlier, and probably would have, if he had varied up his approach. I would love to see Sergio fight Andy Lee and/or Dmitry Pirog. Very interesting fights those. I think that after seeing this, Pirog gives Martinez a number of problems. I hope that fight gets made soon. I would also like to see him fight Bernard Hopkins. That would a very interesting match up.

That wasnt to the back of the head, it as at the side and it barely grazed his ear. That second stumble is what made it very suspect, it wasnt very convincing at all.

I would like to see AA against Martinez now that Martinez was exposed against a guy with a tight guard, and AA can punch, if he can sneak in a punch or two , AA may be able to hurt Martinez

Worried about AA's handspeed, Martinez's reflexes/headmovment is pretty damn quick...one thing's for sure, Winky woulda whupped on him

I was thinking Winky the entire time lol, anybody with a tight defense will give Martinez problems for the simple fact that he likes to throw punches. If he isn't landing cleanly, it leads to frustration and discouragement. Barker had the right game-plan for the most part, but he didn't have all the attributes. LMAO at B-Hop tryin to get Martinez up to light-heavy, come on man!, that would be manslaughter lol, Part of me is happy that Maravilla looked "average", now he shouldn't have any problems finding opponents now will he?? Where's Floyd and Cotto at lmao

They did call a few of his punches but of course they are going to pull for Martinez, he is the "rising star". Barker is an excellent boxer though....dude is really good. I don't see how he was such an underdog, he was very defensive in this fight but he had great accuracy and balance. Sergio's power was just too much for him in the end.

Whatever, my boy won yet again and says he likes the doubt because it motivates him to succeed. He said bring on Pirog, he welcomes all challengers.

                      50-50? It's more like 80-20.

Don't overrate Martinez, he only looks good against slow fighters who allow themselves to get hit. Floyd would make him look even worse than Barker did. Barker isn't a world class fighter by any means, and the only reason why he got hit with so many shots is because he allowed himself to get out worked.
