Top Rank's President, Todd duBoef, spoke to The Desert Sun paper and explained that his company has big plans ahead for uneabten WBO 140-pound champion Timothy Bradley (27-0). He debuts for Top Rank on the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez undercard on November 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Bradley will face Cuban veteran Joel Casamayor. DuBoef wants to build Bradley's name and make him a star.

building a ppv star out of bradley will be difficult. if you start anonymous to everyone but hardcore fans, you don't magically get new audience from one fight. i think what they are doing is the same gbp did with ortiz. trying to build ortiz into a new star, but he blew his chances. bradley better be careful. he fought only once against an overhyped bum alexander ....

They are not trying to build him into a PPV star, they are desperate for opponents for Pacquiao now that Cintron ***ed up and Jones aint coming on that fast.

They will milk the Manny-cow until it is dry, and then feed it to Mayweather.

Yeah, and you give him the type of fight where he can do that. You guys fail to realize that you taint a fighter's career by matching him with fighters that came to lose. Mr. Casamayor is 40 years old and lightyears past his prime. Let him have a breakout performance against a solid fighter, not an old man.

over rated? hes been so under rated for years. hes actually one of the most solid fighters in boxing with potiental. thats a fact. he always gets better, is young, and has stamina. i disagree with the poor defense. honestly he gets ****ted on cause he passed on a khan fight which is his fault. but honestly, he would have beat khan, and anyone in 140 right now, hes very skilled and smart. You think he let Khan land those fast combos? notice khan stands still to unload? he cant unload while moving, this guy was made for bradleys style imo. but bradley wanted to get rid of shaw and paid the price

Oh how quick people forget. This time last year people were saying Pac should fight Mosley, Marquez, Berto, Bradley or Alexander. Pac is fighting the first two and people are upset. Berto is a bum and got exposed by a B level fighter at best. Bradley beat IT BURRNNNNNNSSSS.

If a guy who is CLEARLY the third best welter on the planet does not belong in the ring with Mayweather, then that is very high praise indeed for our resident rain-maker.

Pacquiao ducked Ortiz because he was too dangerous.....
1.) Ortiz laid hands on Manny, and gave him " his best sparring session ever "
2.) Ortiz beat a guy who was on Manny's own shortlist
3.) Ortiz was ranked #3, and Manny has never fought a welter ranked that high

You badly under-rate Ortiz, most likely because of the Maidana debacle, whereas I think that Ortiz has matured, is finally fighting at a healthy weight, and is a much better fighter at welter.

Pity that he never got to solidify his position at 147, but I got him beating Berto again.

The third best welter on the planet Ortiz, was certainly a more credible opponent for Mayweather than the JWW champ Bradley is for Pacquiao, even accounting for Tim's great run at 140.

Fighting at your best weight is badly under-rated on this site
