He wants money, he spent the majority of his career being paid small amounts and now he's a big draw and hes cashing in. He will retire when the money he makes becomes worth less than any damage to his body, hes legacy or pride.

        That's crap.

He's made more money in the Delahoya fight than in any other since.

Why not just listen to what the man says, he has no reason to lie. He has said that of course he wouldn't fight for free, but if it was just the money, he wouldn't stay as motivated.

He talks about history and legacy more than any other current fighter. Winning a Title and breaking Foreman's record was another thing he crossed off. I agree with whoever said, that he wants a Heavyweight Title to top it all off.

But if not that, then he just wants to keep staying relevant.

Fighters who just hang around for the money, don't tend to do as good as he does.

It's a combination of everything. Some do it just for the money, FAIL. Some do it because they can't let go of the spotlight, FAIL. Both the aforementioned don't stay as disciplined as Hopkins and don't just fight past their prime, but at washed-up stage, due to their lifestyle.

In his case, he does it to keep making money, enjoys the spotlight/being relevant amongst the youthful Fighters, and he does it because he can still do it effectively, because of the work he put in over the years.

And he is historically aware of the implications of him still winning at his age. Maybe in the back of his head, he wants to reach 60 wins before calling it quits. He is at 52 now.

He clearly seems bothered by that Calzaghe loss. It was funny to hear Joe say that Hopkins purposely got a seat next to him so he could try to talk him out of retirement at a recent fight. lol

              ....James Toney and...

that cruiserweight belt is right there for the taking in a rematch with Tarver.

B.Hop wanted to fight David Haye for his small part of the HW crown....he was obsessed with the HW title imo...but he knew the Klits were too big and mission impossible....thats why he went har on Haye after the Wlad lost....frustration!!! .....don't really know what drives and motivates this rare breed of a athlete....the curtain is slowly closing on the B.Hop show...even his most diehard fans can admit that....whatever he's chasing, I hope he gets it....Chad may not be the strongest dude mental wise....but he's a problem for the oldman.....a problem I got the oldman solving with little difficulty....I guess its off to CW and a rematch with Tarver...who knows
