LOL! I mean the guy is the second P4P fighter nxt to Floyd like he said! He shld have 24-7 next against a top 5 fighter in160 weight class! Anything! The guy is just a humble dude that's why maybe he just doesn't care , but a close mouth never gets fed! And u got to have the right ppl working for u, if u have a half ass manager who doesn't push fights doesn't push commercials , ads or anything just wants to collect his percentage, than ur not gna make that extra paper! Although not a big Amir Queen fan, the guys scored Major with Reebok! Major!
Sergio is now sponsored by ADIDAS, as of last week

You're right, I forgot. The show is being produced by the WBC which i think is ironic because they are stonewalling the Chavez match but will have Martinez host their show.

Dibella IS an idiot when it comes to promote his fighters. He makes them unlikeable, annoying. It would have been a different story if he was with TR or GBP, that's for sure

And how many fighters are "marketed" well?

There are a lot of Top Rank fighters who are unknown. Sergio just basically blasted himself through the scene as early as 2009 and it really started in 2010, and he's been growing and growing.

That's how it starts, "I don't know who Sergio Martinez is".

Floyd was in that position at one point of his career, where Mosley and De La Hoya were rejecting him because he was not known to the casual fans.

Yeah Sergio has an old age boxing wise. But considering the biggest fight of his prime was in 2009, and that's when he started becoming more known, then I say he's on the right track.

If his next fight is against some one like Dmitry Pirog or some other unknown European HBO wants to make him fight like they forced him to fight Dzinzuruk, then I will feel real bad for him. His next fight better be against a well known fighter with a good fanbase like Cotto-Margarito winner, Chavez Jr, Andy Lee, and if all fails he has Williams III.

arum would do a much better job..he would put martinez on roids...he would take 50% of his purse but to make it up he would provide him with weight drained damaged goods past their prime..just look at duckqiao..the guy who used to get smashed by the mexicans then run up in weight to face damaged goods at catch weight

nah man, floyd was an olympic fighter who always had a following from the very start. People knew he was a special fighter since he was in the amateurs. Of course he didn't reach superstardum until he fought oscar, but that's usually how it goes.

Now we aren't even talking about super star status with Martinez right now, just basic recognition! He doesn't have any.

Maybe it's his promoter, maybe it's lack of opposition, maybe it's his own fault for allowing to get screwed by the WBC time and time again. Whatever the case is, he could be a bigger star of the sport imo.
