I honestly haven't really kept up on the way they do things now...too confusing...but now I am forced to ask for clarity...right now, today, WHO is the current reigning WBC Middleweight Champion? Is it Sergio Martinez or Julio C. Chavez Jr???
BIG QUESTION, anyone know...I dont, honestly...

It is JC JR.
Sergio Martinez was stripped, then Chavez Jr fought Zbik for the vacant belt.Comment

Oh so Martinez isnt even a regular champ or is he the Silver champ? What is the Silver champ exactly?Comment

Martinez was promoted to emeritus champion by the WBC.
He was stripped of the regular title because he didn't declare what his intention was at the weight.
They order Zbik-Chavez then that's how Chavez got the title.
Here is an old link with the story.

WBC wanted to give Chavez a belt, basically cause he's marketable.
They just used Martinez not saying what weight he would defend at to strip him yet keep him in the picture by giving him the emeritus stuff.
Bottom line though. Sulaiman wanted to give Jr a belt and he did.Comment

it should be criminal what they all are doing...especially the SILVER belt, etc...C-R-I-M-I-N-A-L...absolutely ruining the lineage of the "world championship"Comment
