He was over the agreed weight in both fights, lost his title on the scales in the second fight. He was starving himself. He immediately skipped 2 divisions and fought at 122. Before he KO'd Barrera, he had a strwak of about 15-17 wins all but one by KO. He fought Barrera in his first fight at 126. He was damned good.

He was damned good, in fact during a fight, Merchant and Lampley were talking about how great was barrera and Merchant said that before he'd go along with that Barrera would have to probably face "this kid Manny Pacquiao who's knocking them all dead with a killer left hand". And that he would probably come up in weight to fight Barrera. That was the very first time I'd heard of MannyP. And we all know what he did to the ATG Barrera. As I said, he was damned good.

What nobody is talking about is that Pacquiao amassed a 40-0 record without ever fighting anyone you've ever heard of. Even back then Pacquiao was competing for vacant belts .. in other words avoiding legitimate undisputed champions.

There's nothing impressive about hiding out in a corner of the world not known for producing world champion class fighters and padding your record with 40 fights against tomato cans.

Pacquiao arrived after beating Barrera, not before. And Barrera himself had done little else but defeat the hyped up Prince Naseem. Barrera was not and is not an ATG for beating Hamed, Morales, Juarez and Ayala. Stop trying to make Barrera better than he was/is just to glorify Pacquiao.

Barrera had gotten his asss whipped twice by medicore Junior Jones. And ATG doesn't get completely outclassed by a C-/D fighter TWICE!

Pacquiao actually has been knocked out by D fighters!

So before you go getting the pom poms out and singing Pacquiao's praises, do a little research into his record and what he's REALLY done.

40 fights against world class competition is impressive. 40 fights against bums in southeast Asia means nothing.

Same **** with Calzaghe. Same **** with Dariusz Michalczewski. Same **** with Mikkel Kessler. Same **** with Carl Froch. Same **** with Sergio Martinez.

These guys hang out in secluded corners of the world amassing an extensive record of empty wins and the show up, win 1 or 2 fights against heavily promoted NAMES and then claim to be among the best ever.

      That's bull****.

I give Pacquiao full credit for beating Barrera and Morales. I do NOT give him credit for beating Marquez either time. Marquez outboxed him. I do not give credit to Pacquiao in ANY of his fights after David Diaz. He used catchweights and rehydration clauses to win. He's weak, and needs special provisions in order to be at the top. Targeting WWs who have lost but retain their star power names does not mean you beat a champion.

Again, when was the last time Pacquiao fought a #1 or even a #2 fighter? It was Marquez back in 2008.

Its a broken record because Manny Pacquiao and Bob Arum keep giving the boxing world the run around.

A real champion is a champion who beats the best. The best being the #1, #2 and #3 throughout his career. Pacquiao sure as hell hasn't been doing that. None of the guys I mentioned above have been doing that.

Hype is the key to most of today's so-called talent. When you didn't have a major fight against a major fighter until your 35th or 40th fight, you're a hype job. There's no need for that much padding.

And everyone mentioned has just about THAT MUCH PADDING. They want you to believe that they have been doing real things for a real long time. But they haven't. They pad the numbers to make any one thing they do accomplish seem bigger than it is.
