Martinez love to challenge smaller fighter where his size advantage could help him in the fight but when someone his own size challenge him he's scared and would say that they're too big for him.

it's hard to dault cotto for not taking this fight, and for that matter mayweather and pac.. nonoe odf them are MIDDLEweights and martinez has grew into it despite maybe bein a little short, he is bigger than them and he has soem amazing skills, imo to much for pac and floyd, and when it comes to cotto he isent just bigger he is way betterComment

how many fights at middleweight did sergio have before the williams fight?
wasn't williams going to fight kelly pavlik fot his middleweight title?wasn't sergio the replacement for pavlik?so sergio and williams moved up to mw together.how many people thought sergio was a middleweight before he moved up to middleweight? how many people were askin to see sergio fight pavlik and sturm before he fought at middleweight?was kelly not the favorite in that fight mainly due to the fact that he was the bigger man.Comment

people DEFEND sergio for not taking on fighters who aren't big names, but BLAST on bigger name fighters who don't want to fight sergio. . . :shrug:
if he really wants to fight Cotto, he should have been fighting at 154 for his past two, three fights, rather than making dzinz come up, and then taking on an extremely overmatched fighter at 160. . . it's like he is confused. . .Comment

On the real though;
Cotto isn't scared of anyonee, he's just being mindful of his career, his money, and making sure his family is set, so he won't have to come out of retirement in five or ten years and get hurt. Arum has been keeping him away from the really tough fights that have been offered on purpose, because he wants to see Cotto get the maximum amount of money (for both his and Cottos benefit) before he retires.
This is Arums gameplan, and while you can tell Cotto doesn't love it, he's trusting Arum and knows it's the best move for him.Comment
