Better question is, why hasn't Showtime/CBS ever challenged the numbers put forth by Arum, especially now considering they're beefing. Also, specific numbers were given:
Arum said Pacquiao-Mosley generated more than $75 million in television revenue with about 700,000 buys coming via cable systems and about 600,000 coming from satellite services.

Pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao's lopsided decision victory against Shane Mosley on May 7 generated more than 1.3 million pay-per-view buys -- Pacquiao's best box office performance yet -- Top Rank promoter Bob Arum told ESPN.com.

These are claims that could be EASILY investigated by any scribe/reporter/etc by checking with Nevada and cable companies/satellite providers. I'm sure ESPN fact-checked this before publishing it. But if you're not convinced, launch your own investigation. Hire a private eye to get to the bottom of the mystery. The truth shall set you free.

            No. ESPN did NOT fact-check.

They have in the article what is called attribution.

            Jeez.

So...the company that produced the PPV is supposed to spend money on hiring outside agencies...in an effort to prove that they made a poor investment?

You say plenty of idiotic things that are damage control nuthugging for Pac...but that might be the dumbest thing I have ever seen you say.

because most likely their ppv numbers were a HUGE fail, possibly 500k to 800k buys only.
