That's how you know how big of a draw he is...When that is a failure then no one can question his drawing power.
Same thing goes for Pac.
Oscar didn't come close to those numbers against a legend in JCC in a Mexican holiday FFS's, couldn't do it with an undefeated Mosley, couldn't do it with an Quartey who was just as known as Ortiz.
And, those fights where he couldn't reach the number was considered success. And, we consider him thee PPV draw.
And, when he did those numbers they were considered success. But, Floyd or even Pac is a failure...
That's how I know that PPV wise, they have surpassed Oscar as bigger draws.

i agree with you that they are both big draws indeed.
but i respectfully disagree with you that they have surpassed oscar. neither of them have broken his record of 2.4 million buys... YET... and though floyd was the other boxer in that fight, we all know that dela hoya was the draw there.

Let your hate for Oscar subside for just a minute.
DLH was a PPV star without 24/7s, and without the internet, tweeting, or facebook.
I don't like "Fishnets", but that ****er was was like a one man band of "The Beetles " , back in the 90's EVERYONE was talking about his fights. They called him the golden boy because everything he touched turned to Gold, and some of it rubbed off on both Mayweather($$$) and Pacquiao($$$).
Just tell it like it is regardless. Fishnets had a damn good following.
Anything less than 1 million will be a complete failure considering it was on Mexican Independence day on a card with nothing but Mexicans. Everyone knows that Mexicans are the biggest PPV buying audience in america which is why floyd pathetically tried to win over the Mexican fanbase during the de la hoya fight.
Promoters usually say what the numbers are likely to be within a week after the fight. The fact that it has been over a week and not a peep from Schafer or de la hoya is not a good sign.
And this was supposed to be the best promoted fight in history according to Schafer lmao
The truth is there still counting dudes that keep it real like this and they gotta give them a refund which they gotta subtract from the PPV buys
