Theories into why floyd's ppv number hasnt been released?

You know, when a fighter is a huge draw. When he fights a one hit wonder and people act like 700k-800k is a fail.

There was times when Oscar couldn't do those numbers at his peak. That would have been a success for him.

But, somehow it's a failure with Floyd...

i don't know what the final ppv numbers on floyd/ortiz is and i won't even quote an estimate. we'll know it when they release the official numbers, IF they actually release it.

Considering the undercard and floyd's continuously hyping himself as the top ppv draw, IF it was actually 700-800k ppvs, it would be considered a ppv failure.

and a huge failure at that.

same thing could be said if the Manny/Shane ppv would be 700-800k, which i think is more likely since they haven't released the official numbers until now.

Personally, I had a cable descrambler from about 1995-2004 (when Milwaukee finally went fully digital cable)...I used to get every PPV for free in that time span. Those were the days.

Sorry it is late and I sorta started rambling...what I meant to say was, yes there were fewer cable boxers back then...but by like 95/96 any house with the expendable income to purchase PPVs likely already had cable...at least in my opinion.

i agree with you that they are both big draws indeed.

but i respectfully disagree with you that they have surpassed oscar. neither of them have broken his record of 2.4 million buys... YET... and though floyd was the other boxer in that fight, we all know that dela hoya was the draw there.

a question was merely asked why the ppv results were not released. the simple answer is most likely the promoter didn't like the ppv results.
