Byrds perfomance against Vitali is underrated

I recently re-watched the Byrd vs Vitali fight and i have to say that Byrd did a lot better than many fans say. I had him winning 3 rounds, he was doing a really good job of making Vitali miss throughout the entire fight and was able to land his own punches when he mounted an offence and in the 9th he was backing Vitali up and landing at will.

I know that Vitali had that bad shoulder but i hear a lot of talk of Vitali totally dominating Byrd and while he was ahead on the score cards I never really saw Byrd get dominated in this fight. If Vitali had carried on with the bad shoulder its not inconceivable that Byrd could have won the last 3 rounds which would have given him a draw on my card.

Byrd didn't win more then 1 round and was well on his way to getting stopped in the 11th or 12th. Vitali could of lost the last 3 rounds and still won the fight IMO.

I agree. Byrd gave a very good account of himself in that fight.

It was obvious Vitali used himself up trying to hit Byrd when Byrd started chasing Vitali around the ring.
