Yep.. .that is why PPV buys are discussed so much by the key executives in the sport (Time Warner, CBS, Top Rank, GBP, AHP, sponsors, etc) . Because they go ga-ga over celebrities and they don't know what's going on in the sport

Newsflash: You ain't an executive, nor is anyone on this website. Executives are not fans they're businessmen looking to wring whatever bit of money they can out of the sport. What goes on in the ring is immaterial to them so long as their cash-cow doesn't lose. They're the polar opposite of real fans.

It is called prize fighting for a reason, the prize matter if the prize doesn't exist there is no prize fighting because there is no reason to fight~

The bigger the prizes the more healthy the sport, if there is a huge pot of gold at the end of the rainbow people will want to box no matter how unlikely it is to see the promised land in boxing (it is like getting struck by lighting).

Money matters in the sport, it is a very important aspect and always has been, writing it off is not looking at the whole picture.

Sorry caring about sports business gets so many people bent out of shape but it is a legitimate part of the sport worth discussing.

Or do we want to go back to the 50's where fighter get fucked royally by the mob but the corrupt (or scared) media stay silent while the fans are fat dumb and happy watching dude get their lives ruined for peanuts.

NEWSFLASH: My clients are sponsors who DO care about impressions and I do the economic analysis.

Sorry if that hurts your feelings.

Something tells me that if your favourite fighter was the bigger draw, you would be a lot less whiny, and you would b!tch much less about this.

I'm done coddling you. Whine away!

Then something is telling you wrong. I couldn't care less if they couldn't draw flies with rotting meat tied around their neck nor does it matter to me if they set attendance records. If it isn't going on in the ring then I'm not interested. I don't even watch the dumbass ringwalks: I'll pay attention when the bell rings.
