People who have not really boxed before tend to look at it like that, the butt that caused all the drama no doubt illegal.
But Ortizs use of the head is not what your making it out to be, anybody who has laced them up and has an aggressive style of fighting, knows that when you get in on the inside with a man who has a nice uppercut to avoid getting hit with that shot you must burry your head into his shoulder and thats what Ortiz was doing.
Holyfield does that, and its often looked at the same way your looking at this, infact if you watch Holyfield vs Bowe 2 you can hear steward inbetween rounds reminding Evander that once he gets inside burry your head into his shoulder.

Alot of fighters do that and its not a dirty tactic, its to avoid getting hit with a shot on the inside you dont see comming.
However no matter how you look at this there is a right way and a wrong way, you can bend the truth all you want but at the end of the day its the fighters responsibility to protect himself at all times, its the fighters responsibility to win the fight but most importantly its the fighters responsibility to respect this sport, you dont disrespect the sport of boxing you let the ref do his job.
if a fighter is showing sportsmanship weather he was over doing it or not you do not sucker punch him like that when you clearly know that the ref doesnt have control when you clearly know your opponent is trying to make it right, sure it doesnt make the headbutt right but he was doing the right thing...
and at the end of the day, this is exactly the kind of **** that contributes to the death of this sport.

bro you wrote a damm testament... i do boxing and let me tell you theres a big difference in getting in the inside and putting your head in the opponents shoulder to avoid getting hit thats ok whatever you like to do.. but theres no doubt that was intentional and dirty. he got what he diserve and plus you dont go kissing your opponent and all that im really sry ****t.. you messed up ok cool touch gloves and get to it.. im not a dirty fighter but you get your one time mistakes you make and let tell you you dont go and start kissing and hugging in the ring bro...

Everyone including Ortiz is saying what he did was wrong and he even got deducted a point for it.

The difference is that some of Floyd's fans are taking what Ortiz did and stating that what Floyd did was OK and Ortiz deserved it.

The thing is that we all know that Ortiz could have been an angel throughout the fight. Floyd still would have done something like that if he had the opportunity. Floyd has done it before against Gatti, Mosley and others.

This "protect your self at all times" is just an excuse to cover up Floyd's classless unsportsmanlike behavior in those fights.

Floyd took advantage of a situation because he knew that everyone under those circumstances puts their guard down after an incident like that. Especially when Floyd himself returned/accepted the embracing. That made Ortiz put down his guard even more.

I understand that, I mean Cotto kissed Judah when he hit him low, lets be ****ing real thats sportsman ship, you dont bait your man into another hug, nodding saying okay okay its cool and sucker punch him like that you show your end of the sportsmanship since your also comming in to embrace him you take your full step back and box that didnt happen

And that is why people are mad, its not that they are hating on Floyd, the reality is Floyd disrespected this sport, and what makes this sport what it is? the fans? and the fans do not pay to see some cheap low **** like that.

It's really funny how all the Mayweather fans only appear in the threads there buddies do. Like they need some sort of backup just to enter a thread. Streets are the same way for them.
