    Dwight Muhammad Qawi

I saw this guy on Evander Holyfield's record and i was like....meh, must be some average 80's fighter that climbed up in weight.

However, i was curious (because of his name, lol) and checked his fight with Holyfield....i was shocked by how good Dwight really was. I usually dont judge people straight away but i did with Dwight and i was pleasantly surprised.

Ive seen the fights with Holyfield but only those. Could anyone recommend me some of Dwight's best fights.

Also, how is Dwight regarded by people on Boxing Scene? I feel Dwight falls into the miscellaneous D section which is a shame.

Qawi was an excellent fighter. He was a champ in a great LHW era until he faced Spinks, one of the greatest LHWs ever.

I recommend Qawi's fight with Eddie Davis. Qawi's defense was subpar for him in this fight, but that helped make it more exciting.

Qawi beat the hell out of a declining Saad Muhammad twice, and his best performance might have been against Jerry Martin.

If you are feeling sadistic, then see Qawi's CW fight with Leon Spinks. Brutal beating.

Qawi was a real sadist in the ring.

Dwight Muhammad Qawi is a HOF'er and a genuinely fantastic fighter.

His first fight with Holyfield is one of the best fight's I've actually ever seen.

And his almighty ass whooping of Leon Spinks is a joy to watch still to this day.

Qawi was a beast. Short, stocky, but powerful and full of hunger.

He participated in some very important match-ups. The first Holyfield fight was to determine the best Cruiserweight in the world. He gave a good account of himself in that fight, which few (himself obviously included), had thought he had done enough to earn the nod.

The Michael Spinks fight pitted Qawi against arguably the greatest LHW of all-time. It didn't quite live upto the battle many were expecting, but again, Qawi belonged in the ring with a true great. Many people thought the fight shouldn't have gone ahead, as a week prior to the fight, Qawi was diagnosed with pneumonia. Many felt this led to him tiring late on. Spinks partner had also passed away within the week too.

His fights against one of my favourite all-time fighters Saad Muhammed is a good watch. Saad was a faded fighter, but was still Champ.

Eddie Davis, Leon Spinks, Jerry Martin, Johnny Davis, Piet Crous....all fights worth a view.
