if floyd beats manny convincingly and retires undefeated he goes in front( or manny and martinez) ...otherwise manny stays in front I think.
martinez?.....uh no , martinez got a long way to go to be in tat conversation homeboy...he is not even a HOF, i dont think he'll ever be given he is old now.....
It will be close. The problem is the background that surround some of their wins.
Floyd will get more credit for beating an undefeated ricky hatton whereas manny wont because the claim will be that he was over the hill.
Floyd will get a mosley coming off a win but still over the hill. Manny with get a shot to **** mosley. Same with De la Hoya.
With Magarito it depends on his next fight. If cotto trashes Magarito that will take away from Manny's win simply because it will state he was a shadow after his the plaster was taken off but it will give him more credit for the cotto win.
Manny will win in Barrera and Morales vs Corrales and Castillo.
Floyds has better journeyman under his belt than manny though but thats like saying whose **** smells the least.
The eight division champ will help manny but the details surrounding the championship wont help. Everyone seems to be a 4 ,5 division champion these days. The 0 will help floyd but not as much as he expects.
Its close but it will also reflect the opportunistic way they are choosing their fights.
I think this is still up for grabs... Manny of course has the honor of being someone who broken some things that has never been broken... fighter of the decade means nothing...
Both fought almost the same amount of champions or ex-champions - both fought Hall of Famers and worthy competition... Floyd dominated his competition way more but Pacquiao's fights are more spectacular...
Like I said before - this is not to Pacquiao's fault or Mayweather's fault - but whom had Mayweather at 130, 135, 140, 147 who was considered prime or still somewhat prime and in the class of a Barrera, Morales, Marquez??? Nobody... he fought worthy competition and very good fighters... fighters who gave later on guys like Morales very good matches...
Resume wise you can't compare a Corrales or a Castillo to Morales and Barrera but seriously... Morales and Barrera never fought them at 130... I still to this day and it doesn't mean that you take that into an account - but I think that Morales and Barrera would have had their hands full at 130 with either Corrales and Castillo... both ain't have the resume like Morales and Barrera so Barrera and Morales and seeing as greater wins and rightfully so... but that doesn't take away from Floyd's wins...
And by the way the 130 version of Mayweather beats Barrera and Morales every day... sorry to say that and I really do like Morales (Barrera not so much) but both wouldn't have a chance at the 130 version of Floyd - this was an whole different fighter - you ain't get the 2nd or best 130 pounder of all time without having proved something... both Manny and Floyd ain't always fought the toughest after they moved up - Floyd mostly fought them first and beat them first... so IMO it is pretty close... Pacquiao still upfront because he win titles in ''8'' weight classes... and he really as well dominated bigger fighters in the last few years... good competition but as well nothing that comes close to the level of Morales, Barrera and Marquez...
Both of their legacys are set... but when it comes up to the higher weights both need each other... and without them fighting we will never know who is better head to head... legacy is legacy but nothing really confirms who is better then a fight... like one poster said - Duran is generally considered greater as Hearns but still got ko'd in two rounds by him... so legacy is legacy but I want to see who is better if they REALLY fight
