Lou DiBella will not allow Andre Berto, a fighter he promotes, to face Ortiz again in a rematch unless both fighters conform to some pre-fight requirements.

I don't see nothing wrong with it. It's a combat sport, some people cheat and some people are honest. If a fighter is clean, they'll take the test. If their dirty, they won't. Since when did demanding BETTER testing of an opponent become cowardly? I salute you DiBella, protect your fighter(s).

I agree. I think Berto has a lot more leverage against Ortiz than many realize. If he wants the belt bad enough, he'll take the test again. I think he's clean so I don't see why he wouldn't.

It's only a "duck" if the other opponent refuses to take the test. Then who's ducking?

It is cowardly when you're stating that you're NOT accusing someone [Ortiz] of being dirty, and that they just want to assure a clean fight for Berto ..... AND THEN you DON'T ask the guy who you fought next [Zavek] to take the test as well. Unless Berto/Zavek had OST that they haven't told us about (and I think DiBella would have mentioned that in the interview), then it's a bit of a punk move because it IS insinuating that they think Ortiz was on something in their last fight.

If you're not doing special testing for ALL your fights and you selectively choose a FUTURE opponent for tests you're not doing for ALL of your upcoming fights, then well.... there is a word for it. *****

there was no random osdt in berto-zavec. just the commission test. why they are asking ortiz to be tested is beyond me,when you consider berto has been closely cooperating with ex. drugs cheat conte. i'm surprised dibella picked the testing up though, i guess he's trying to tap into floyds game and try to impose berto or martinez to him as his next opponent.

I really feel like it's just another way of saying they think Victor was on something during their first fight. Berto even screwed up and insinuated to that affect on his Twitter after his loss. When he got crucified for it, he changed it to "Oh, I meant he was taking his spinach, like Popeye." If they were really trying to follow after Floyd, Lou would have come out with a statement that said "Ortiz will have to take OST AS WILL ALL OPPONENTS who fight Andre Berto." Instead, Lou chooses to start with "I'm not accusing" but then in so many words - ACCUSES Ortiz of cheating in their first fight. It's transparent, and quite frankly pathetic.

They saw how Victor performed against Floyd, and how he couldn't get up from those last two punches. They knew that he took harder shots from Berto in their fight but bounced back up like they were nothing. And, knowing he WAS tested against FMJ they found a way to try and make an excuse for why Berto lost his first fight, to insinuate some kind of foul play on the part of Ortiz.

To be honest, I'd have more respect for Team Berto if they just came out and said "We think Ortiz cheated" and state why. Instead, they're playing the we're not accusing but we really are, game. It's lame. Without testing you're next opponent and all future opponents with OST, they most definately ARE "accusing".

Everyone should be drug tested. Except for Manny Pacquiao because we all know he's clean.
